POV DESMOND

"Good evening Mr. Gammond," Janice said from her booth. I saw her put some things away as she went to the oak door to open it for him.

"Good evening, Janice," my uncle responded as he walked through the door. Janice took his coat and Patrice helped him sit at my desk.

"That will be all Cynthia, thank you for your help this evening," I said, giving her a small smile as she winked and walked away. Before she left, she brought over two cups of water and set them in front of each of us.

"You may both go for the evening," my uncle said, waving Janice and Cynthia away. They both gave me a look and I nodded in confirmation. They packed up their things and waved to me as they stepped out the door. Cynthia even gave me a thumbs-up, which made me chuckle inside.

"Patrice, would you like some coffee?" I asked.
