Selene’s mind goes blank. She had spent the day trying to come up with the best way to discuss Sparrow only to forget it all when finally asked. Part of her had been convinced it wasn’t important anymore. Selene had wondered if she was simply making more out of the situation than was called for.
Another part of her knows she will not be able to truly trust Onyx until she knows what his relationship is with Sparrow. Selene looks across at the Alpha. She can sense he’s eager for her to speak, but he doesn’t force her to open up to him.
“In the courtyard,” Selene repeats. “I…it’s probably nothing…It’s just something Sparrow said to me earlier that morning.”
“Okay,” Onyx slowly replies. “It’s obviously something, my love, if it’s weighing so heavy on your mind.”
