6.7 Symphonies of Redemption

Silas materialized behind Cass, peering over his shoulder at the screen of his cellphone. "Do you have enough yet?" he inquired.

Cass responded silently, "Not yet, but I will in a couple of days," his smile taking on a hint of malice. "I can't wait to see their faces when I take what they care about most."

Silas returned the smile before vanishing as Shaifeng approached Cass. Taking a seat beside him, Shaifeng ordered a drink and observed Cass's smile with curiosity.

"Are you okay?" Shaifeng asked.

"En," Cass replied casually.

Shaifeng began, "You know that Father would never..."

Cass interrupted, locking eyes with Shaifeng. "I don't."

Shaifeng pressed further, "Do you think he did this on purpose?"
