Cass strode towards the waiting limousine, seemingly unconcerned whether the others were trailing behind. Shaifeng snapped out of his reverie and trailed after him, the rest of the family falling into place beside them. Shaifeng settled into a seat next to Cass, while the others occupied spots along the sides of the vehicle.
As the limo began to move, their gazes couldn't help but be drawn to Cass, who sat quietly by the window, looking out. Shaifeng couldn't shake the feeling that Cass resembled his former self.
Though Cass had always possessed a striking handsomeness, it seemed as though he had let it fade over time, neglecting not only his appearance but seemingly everything else too.
With a tentative smile, Shaifeng broke the silence, "How are you, Cass?"
Meeting Shaifeng's gaze, Cass replied softly, "I'm well."
