Cass awoke to a pounding headache, his eyes struggling to open. As he rubbed his eyes, a maid by his side remarked, "You're awake."

The shadow guards exchanged glances, one of them preparing to leave, when suddenly, the world froze. Time seemed to halt, creating an eerie stillness.

Sitting up, Cass retrieved two vials from Silas. After gulping them down, a wave of relief washed over him, bringing back his usual self. Opening his robes, he inspected the wound – already healed, leaving behind only a scar.

Curiosity led Cass to catch up on what happened during his slumber. He was astonished to discover Lucian's use of magic to revive him, hinting at a depth of magical proficiency beyond what Lucian revealed openly, evident from the existence of the secret chamber.
