It had been around a year since Robin had been out of home. It was time for him to go to his home and make proper arrangements for his parents. His parents had a very less idea of what he did and didn't care as long as he wasn't doing something illegal.
Robin's parents have always had faith in him. Robin, too, never betrayed their confidence. Robin made the decision to return home and have a meaningful conversation today, the day North Korea began recruiting. In order not to catch attention, he book he booked his own private old jet to reach his old home in Guwahati. Emily and Cassandra accompanied him to the city as usual while Rita, Cathrin and Sauvik would stay back at Pyongyang.
The city of Guwahati was quite a downgrade from the modern and high tech city of Pyongyang but Robin didn't mind that. Even though it was less clean than Pyongyang and had a little more dust than other normal cities, he enjoyed his own city.
When Robin arrived at the airport early in the morning, a car was there to pick him up. He had not only made their parents' lives easy in recent months, but he had also given them every luxury imaginable.
After the crisis in Europe, he had provided them with personal bodyguards and housemaids among Ark residents who were in charge of maintaining security in Ark. The house was likewise brand-new and opulent, combining modern architecture with cutting-edge conveniences.
"Welcome back home, Supreme Commander." Only Robin could hear what the driver who was waiting for him said in a low voice. He didn't need to worry about the space hostesses and the pilots because they had a designated location to live.
"Matias, it's good to see you again." Robin remarked that he was able to identify the driver and bodyguard since he had personally chosen them to look after his parents. The fact that their nation had triumphed and was now the de facto leader of the globe caused Matias to smile widely and feel a sense of pride.
Robin traveled the same route he formerly used every day to get to his school. He even went by the spot where he had made the stupid mistake of tossing an M4 into a wetland. At the time, he was genuinely stupid. Although he still felt like he was being foolish in a typical sense and didn't believe he had become particularly conscious of his surroundings, at least he would consider the repercussions before doing some insane crap.
He had arrived at his new home, which radiated grandeur and was a blend of modern design and precise craftsmanship, after spending another half hour traveling there. The facade displayed a tasteful combination of angular lines, sizable windows, and high-end materials. When his car slid into the garage, the house even featured an outdoor kitchen and a pool on the side. His parents were already there by the entrance to greet him.
"So it took a year for you to return home?" His mother said the moment when he came out of the car. Her voice filled with indignation and a hint of sadness.
"Mom, you have seen what I do. I have been busy.. Sorry." Here, Robin worked hard not to lie excessively.
"He's been here for so long and you're already whining. He's already been seen by you in Italy. It's just a new home." While supporting his son, his father said. Nevertheless, Robin was welcomed into his family with open arms, just like any other ordinary Indian family.
Robin truly missed his mother's homemade cuisine, which she had prepared quite a bit of. Though food was never in his priority list and he could along with any food as long as it had taste and nutrients.
However, since humans depended on food and shelter to survive, any improvement to one of these necessities was unquestionably commendable.
"Thanks mom." Robin said after eating.
"Thank me after you get married. Everything going good with Cathrin?" Once more, his mother inquired, interfering with his romantic life. As she heard this, Robin sighed. He had been bugged about it for a while, but now that he was at home, he anticipated a flood of inquiries on his future marriage.
Although he was aware that he would eventually wed Cathrin, he chose not to do so right away. He had a long life ahead of him, so there was no rush.
"Mom, I'm still young and there's still time for that." Robin muttered and tried to refute his mom. His mother didn't say more and just talked about the things that had been happening. Their new home, the new people, the wonderful maids, the eventful journey in Europe and every other thing.
Robin enjoyed listening to his parents chat endlessly. His father joined in on these family discussions and spoke animatedly. Robin didn't inquire until his mother had finished talking extensively.
"Mom, why don't you find a new home?"
"New place? We recently moved here. You know how nerve wrecking and exhausting it is to move from one place to another. I can't go through that again." Her mother objected. By this time she knew that her son had too much money and nowhere to spend. She could only estimate how wealthy her son was because their house was practically the best deal in the entire city, but that didn't mean she was ready to move around for the sake of it.
"No. You don't understand. I mean moving to space." Robin spoke plainly for them by using a firm voice that was quite precise.
"What?"
"Yeah. You have observed both the hiring processes and the homes that are also being sold in the new space stations. Would you like to relocate there?" Robin enquired.
"You.. You.. You can even afford to buy homes there? What are hell do you do?" His father who was listening to the conversation was dumbfounded.
"I am the biggest distributor of the new medicine and also the med pods go under my supervision. I made myself quite an amount of money because I had dealt with North Korea from the beginning. In fact, if you'd like, you can join us when North Korea begins its space expedition." The big bomb was ultimately dropped by Robin.
As they listened to him, his parents' eyes were wide open. They found it difficult to believe he had so significant dealings with North Korea. Robin had indicated that he had some dealings with them when the nation first arose as the new utopia, and it was the cause for his large wallets and bank accounts. But this was different.
Very few of the apartments in the space stations had been listed for sale along with the job openings. However, they had no idea that their son had already accessed it.
"Son, isn't it expensive?" Since his kid could claim a seat there, his father had to inquire.
"Don't stress over it. To me, it means nothing. I've already purchased a property there. You only need to move in." said Robin.
"You already bought a piece? That seems like a waste of money." His mom wondered.
"Mom, when we all pass away, we won't be able to carry the wealth with us to the afterlife. So live the current life and stop thinking of the future." said Robin. The future was something a family should think about, but because they already had all the money, they shouldn't constantly worry about it.
"I suppose we can move in if you already have a home there. Wait, what about you and Cathrin, though? You won't have the location if you give it to us." His dad enquired.
"Who said I only bought one?" With a broad grin, Robin said. Hearing this, his parents shivered. They couldn't believe their son had enough money to purchase two residences in a supremely opulent space station. Then Robin continued by describing the emerging nation of North Korea and how it was altering the global landscape.
They were startled more and more when they heard more.
"So you met this ruler of North Korea?" His mom enquired.
"Yes. He always sports a mask, just like you've seen on TV." Looking deeply into his mother's eyes, Robin lied.
"He must be someone who loves his private life and luxury." His father made a guess. He was also pleased that his son attained such success that he had the opportunity to interact with the most powerful person in history. He had witnessed his space exploits, and North Korea has publicly acknowledged that the ruler and his bodyguards were the ones who engaged in space combat.
Not knowing the person who did those feats was his own himself. If Robin's father learned that his own son was in charge, it would be pretty amazing to see how he would respond.
