"Do you know what it is?" Mill asked at Mauve's gasp.

Mauve tore her eyes away from her arm. "No, I don't," she whispered looking at her foot. "It might be a reaction from the fever."

Mill looked suspiciously at her but didn't push. "Okay." She returned the light to the table. "I will get you dressed."

Mauve nodded, she was in a daze. She hadn't mentioned it to Mill because she was afraid if she said it out loud, she would confirm it.

It couldn't be it, right? Mauve thought to herself as Mill dressed her up in comfortable clothes.

There was no way it was the white disease. It would mean she got it from Vae as her mother had it but that didn't make any sense.

The white disease wasn't transferable, she would have gotten it from her mother as a child. Or did it lay dormant all this while?

That wasn't possible, it wasn't contagious. Or did it mean it could take that long for it to reveal itself?
