206. Take My Shoes Off

Mauve sat quietly in the tub as Mill grumbled. "Just what were you thinking?" The vampire yelled.

"The flowers needed a little tending," she mumbled.

The plants had started to grow. Mauve was a little sad she wasn't here to see them sprout out of the ground. However, being able to still see them in their early stages was enough for her.

She knew they had started to germinate before she left and had thought she would be back before they did. However, fate had other plans and she was held back.

The flowers Jael had given her were also in pristine shape. She could tell that someone had properly looked after them while she was away. None had died or withered, she had been extremely worried about that.

"So, let me get this straight. Immediately after the last meal you went to the rooftop, correct?"

"Yes," Mauve said and nodded simultaneously. She already told Mill the details word for word, she didn't understand why the vampire had to repeat it.
