Back In Time.

Esther stepped in her own house, the one she had set to get her life. She deserved those thousand years for herself. She shouldn't have had to clean her children's messes.

She looked at Caroline's cold body resting on a bed. With five other bodies resting around her. Kol. Finn. Rebekah. Elijah. And Freya.

"Just Niklaus is left." She smiled softly. "I am coming for you Niklaus!"

Klaus Mikaelson was in New Orleans, worried out of his mind. Not that he would ever admit to his siblings that he was worried about them. Rebekah and Kol would never stop reminding him. He finally got the help of a witch by threatening her and her family's lives, and found his siblings in Mystic Falls.

It was odd. What were they doing in Mystic Falls?

He called Caroline to find out if there was anything suspicious. But, her phone always directed him to voicemail. Finding this suspcioudly odd, he decided it was time to take a trip to Mystic Falls to find out what the hell was going on. Caroline always had her phone. She was always available, especially if her office number was dailed. But, for the past eleven days he had recieved no answer.

Klaus Mikaleson found the abandoned house where the witch had told her where his family was. He came inside.

"Hello?"

He opened the living room door, as his eyes fell upon Caroline's greying body. He didn't notice the rest as he saw hers first.

"No.." The words that came out of his mouth were hoarse. "No….No."

"Niklaus, get away from her."

Esther Mikaelson came out of the adjoining room. The only way she could trap her son Klaus, was to let him come to her. He was like a baby deer, if you went too close, he'd get scared. She just had to hold out her palm with something she knew he cared about. In that case, it was his entire family and Caroline was just extra leverage.

"Mother!" He growled. "I should have known!!!"

He looked around the room.

"What are you doing with them?" He asked.

He was a little afraid of the answer. He would just lock them up….but, what. What was she doing?

"What I am about to do to you!" She twisted her hand and Klaus Mikaelson fell to the floor, unconscious.

Esther Mikaelson had to go through too much to realize that the only way to get her life back was to let the past be...….different.

SHe could have a clean break from her children and maybe have the most amazing life with Ansel, the man she actually loved. She couldn't undo the past, but her magic allowed her to change it. She could do one thing. And that was to insert Caroline Forbes, the love of Klaus Mikaelson, and sit back to watch the 'magic' happen. She started the spell quickly before someone woke up. As they entered the past, they would lose their memories. The one thing she didn't know was that she would lose hers as well. With the exception that only she would remember Caroline as a family friend but no one else would.

Caroline Forbes woke up after what felt like a long long time. She opened her eyes, she had no idea where she was.

She stood up,

"Come here." Esther Mikaelson told her.

Caroline's memory had been altered. She didn't remember any of them.

"Come in, Caroline," She told her.

Caroline walked into the house. She knew that she knew Esther, but none of them.

"Welcome to my home, Caroline." She told Caroline.

The dinner was set up, Esther put down a plate for one more.

"Who is this?"

"This is my friend's daughter." Esther told them. "And she will be staying with us for a while."

She had been given one of Rebekah's dresses to fit in. Rebekah was extremely happy to see a girl in the house. It was a nice change.
