Discussions.

At level 5 of the system, there was something that in the future the family thought was going to be very useful, the system smithy.

At this level, it was possible to upgrade or customize equipment. But this feature was worth 600 points for the first level and they still didn't see it as necessary.

It is possible to use mana as a resource in the system smithy, but they still decided not to buy this feature, as their weapons worked for the time being.

What they decided to buy was 2 skills, which were expensive.

[Principles of fire control] which required knowledge of the [Fireball] spell, another fire spell, or a rare predisposition to the fire attribute, which would be translated by the system to a passive of some kind.

This was a passive ability, which allowed mages to control the potential of their fire spells much better.

With this Lucia could cast [Fireball] twice the previous size. She could also alter its shape or make it explode.

Of course, the mana consumption depended on what she wanted to do, so she couldn't really create big explosions... Not yet.

This passive ability cost 2500 Scoins.

They also bought the light spell, [Light Barrier], for his mother. This was to defend themselves in case of a big fight, it invoked a barrier that was very useful, since it could vary according to the mana used. This ability cost 2000 Scoins.

With this, the group had a great chance of survival.

The group can now hunt stronger monsters, so they started to level up more and more.

***

They fought different monsters, looking for various orcs, which gave about 1000 points each.

They also hunted zombies of all kinds. There are some that run fast, some that are gigantic, some that vomit disgusting liquids that can damage the skin, and even kill if they meet someone of a low level.

One very good thing is that with their leveling up, they were no longer as vulnerable to the zombie virus, especially after level 5.

So they were no longer afraid of small drops of blood and although they still hunted with thick clothes and without being careless, they no longer had to be afraid to dodge absolutely any attack of these. Because of this, they were able to hunt larger groups of zombies.

They also began to work better and better as a group. They became better organized with the secondary group, which although they are having a hard time, they are still able to survive.

It was quickly noticed how the military was no longer giving out free meals. All the supermarkets in the area were empty, and few were kind enough to give away food to others.

So they decided to take a risk...

***

July 24, 2033.

The family and the secondary group (who are staying at Melissa's house) decided to leave their vicinity. Before they did not go more than half an hour in a certain direction.

However, they decided to go to a place that they estimated would take them an hour to travel, maybe they could get food there. The one who suggested a place was Hector, Melissa's father.

In fact, he had a fairly structured plan, it was public knowledge that there was a [War Chariot, slave model] that could be purchased in the system.

It was a chariot designed to be pulled by one or two people. It could carry large amounts of stuff.

The idea was to buy it after getting food, so that they could carry it.

There was a large supermarket, which was relatively close, about 5 kilometers away.

It used to be easy to walk 5 kilometers if you were in good shape. The problem is that now the road is full of monsters.

Besides, the chariot would be noisy on the way back and it would take even longer to get back.

The secondary group urgently needed food, more than Viktor's family did, but they didn't think they could go there alone.

Of course, they needed the family's help. So they asked them for this.

Lucia wanted to agree immediately, even her parents thought it was a good idea.

However, Viktor gave several conditions and told them that if they wanted his group to be the one to protect them, they had to pay appropriately. His family did not think it was strange or excessive.

Viktor asked that they give his group 5000 Scoins.

Melissa's family agreed. Viktor's family had helped them and the first food cart was given to them for free.

Now that they could get points, 5000 points were not too much.

Besides for such a large group even if it was going to take a while, 5000 points wasn't much, it was only a few days of hunting if they spread it out properly, maybe a month if they went slow.

This was not much to cover risks, and Viktor did not demand immediate payment.

Jessie also agreed, but Azul's family and Benjamin's family complained about Viktor's "tyrannical" behavior.

"He is being so selfish, Lucia, I can't believe you are supporting him in this. It's ridiculous to want to charge for a collaboration that is going to benefit you, and more so to someone who is supposedly your friend."

"All Viktor wants is to make himself stronger and for us to have to depend on him."

"Besides you are so unfair...Lucia...honestly your brother is a tyrant. I don't know how you can accept it."

These words came mainly from the eldest of the secondary group, Benjamin's relatives. Azul was also quite against the family's decision.

Although Lucia thought her brother was perhaps a bit excessive, she didn't think it was too much. He risked his life more than anyone else.

Besides, even though he was the one who usually gave orders, he always kept others in mind. Sometimes he would tell his family to stay behind and he would go check for monsters in the area.

If he wanted to, he could be fine on his own, go back to his apartment and get food there. He doesn't need to save or help others, but he still does it for his family.

That's why Lucia didn't feel she could get angry or think he was unreasonable in asking to have certain benefits for his efforts.

Other times he would go on patrol, much longer than the others.

Though certainly by going out to check the situation outside became stronger, if they asked the other group to do that, few would have the courage.

A fierce discussion began. Azul complained about Viktor and also began to complain about the preferential treatment Melissa was receiving just because she was his best friend.

"I don't think we are asking for much... Besides even though both groups would benefit, we are the ones who would contribute the most by getting the food" Lucia babbled.

Lucia and Melissa had been together since they were 5 years old while they had been together with Azul and Benjamin since they were 13.

Azul felt that Melissa had a lot of preferences, as her family split the food for their group and certainly her family ate better than Benjamin's and hers. Benjamin agreed with this.

"We are all human and have been friends for a long time, if we decide to make a group together there should be no priorities."

" Even less so just because she's your best friend...We're friends for a long time too!!!"Benjamin shouted.

Shouts could be heard everywhere.

Viktor was going to ignore all this but he was very angry at what he considered a very childish thought, but they were yelling and disturbing his rest.

So he soon approached this group and refuted the words they shouted at his sister.

"That's pure bullshit, obviously Melissa's family has more. If you want more, just get more. My sister contributed a lot more than you, so she can choose who to help the most."

"Besides, even without taking this into account, Melissa's family contributed more than yours."

"When they paid for a second cart your family that had 5 members only contributed 1250 points, Jessie contributed 250 points, while Melissa's family contributed 2000 points, even though they were only 4 members."

"I said before, you all must earn your own life. My family has no duty to wipe your asses."

"And also, we didn't decide to form a group on equal terms, you asked for help, so for the time being we are a group."

"Still... Helping someone does not give you the right to force them to give you everything they earn."(Benjamin)

"If you don't want to work together anymore, you are free to leave. You could go back to your house full of zombies and try to get food there."

Viktor spoke with a high tone of voice, as he was quite annoyed.

Viktor had started to be able to feel how these groups were looking at his sister and he was quite upset.

He saw that they even went so far as to look at him with hatred. They also did not see his sister with positive feelings. He thought they were using her and felt disgusted.

He even thought about charging them more, but he knew that they were not going to score many points.

His [Chaotic Vision] was developing, but it had no level system, and it was not clear how to develop it. He just began to notice this hostility from this group to his sister.

He took the opportunity tonight to talk to his sister about it, but she simply didn't believe him.

Not that she didn't trust Viktor's good intentions but he was relying on an ability he had gained in a strange way.

An ability that he hadn't tested enough its certainty wasn't going to cast doubt on her friendship of more than 8 years.

When his mother and father listened to Viktor and asked him for more details, they were surprised, they did not know what to make of this.

They were afraid that this "eye" was something bad that could harm Viktor. But now they also had some distrust of the secondary group. They wanted to believe more in their son than in strangers.

Still, they didn't think this group would be that bad, at worst they thought they would just disappoint their daughter like many of their boyfriends or friends had done before.

They considered her a strong girl and knew that even though it would be hard for her at times, she could recover if she realized in the future that her "friends" were just freeloaders.

Viktor was very frustrated by how his sister didn't believe him and didn't even think about that possibility.

He "forced" her to sleep with the knife near him, so at least he would get used to it, since he had not put this into practice before.

His parents did not disagree with this. And he decided to verify that she would actually follow this advice.

Since they didn't sleep in the same house with her friends, he hadn't given this much thought.

Now, however, he felt that he should start training his family to believe less in other people.

So this day they all slept together in the dining room, and Viktor watched over them, especially over his sister...
