Chapter 175 Dark Clouds Over the City

The sky had darkened at some point, thick and substantial clouds layering upon each other above the City-State like a palpable weight. The sea breeze, tinged with the salty tang of the ocean, swept through the streets in gusts that seemed intent on funneling bone-chilling air into one's very marrow.

Old Captain Lawrence stepped out of the church's main door, shrinking his neck against the biting wind. He looked up at the darkening sky and began to mutter complaints about the awful weather, "Damn, rotten luck.
