Epilogue Storms coming

" Have you prepared for the expedition?"

Ragnar said, putting on his armor to go out on a mission. A group of soldiers was standing behind him while watching the movements of their commander and general. Their sole existence was to follow his command and serve the new kingdom with glory.

" Listen, we will depart North and find the ice crystal for our people. If our enemies know about our mission, they will try their best to hinder our goal, thus no matter what happens to you, remember your very existence is for the kingdom."

Ragnar spoke coldly, walking towards the vehicle which was waiting for them. Ragnar knew he would lose his men in the north, but that didn't matter because he was moving for his people and that was enough reason.

Speech*

The vehicle spat out steam as it was saying it was ready to move. The smell of smoke and steamrolled into their noses, reminding them this wasn't a simple resonance mission. It was a highly classified dangerous mission that would probably kill half of them. Even so, it was worth going there.

" Move!"

Ragnar took a breath, looking at his estate one last time, thinking about his son and his purpose. There was a long way to hell and that way is in front of him, so why not take the risk?

Meanwhile, in Crown, the expedition force of enforcers and officers were going out to capture the most wanted criminal in their history. The prisoner escaped from their prison, stole a prototype mana crystal from the laboratory when he was escaping. This escalated the situation as the council was in an uproar due to its potential to be a war weapon.

If this crystal fell into Roxan or any country, the outcome would trigger another large scale war, even worse the world War might happen. Therefore they deployed of young scientists and officers as inspectors and inquisitors to catch the criminal and retrieve the lost crystal before it falls into someone's hands.

" How did he even escape in the first place? Wasn't Rock Island the most secure prison?"

Thomas said coldly while tinkering his newest invention with a serious look. He was displeased when he heard he was going to be sent to the North to retrieve a crystal that was stolen from them due to carelessness of the staff of Rock Island prison.

He knew Andersen was feeling sick recently because of his illness and he wanted to stay with his friend because he was worried about his body. Although the professors said they would look after him, Thomas saw Andersen was getting worse day by day before his eyes. He was like a bright flame that was soon to be extinguished from the face of the world.

" I know Andersen isn't well since I am one of his friends, so don't make that kind of face. I despise this kind of look. Do you think I wanted to go to the north?"

Colena spoke while wiping her rifle with a towel. She also felt quite uncomfortable when she heard she was going with Thomas. Andersen was deteriorating in front of her eyes, so she begged the council to let Thomas stay since he was only a few people who could find a cure for his sickness, yet the council decided to dispatch him to the north, knowing the unstable Andersen. Besides, her instincts were telling Andersen was different than before, he was more gloomy and dark.

" Do you think he will be alright after my trip? I mean he was different than before."

Thomas sighed, feeling complicated inside. The city wasn't a good place to live, especially for those who had pure hearts like Andersen because he would be broken by the authority. Thomas understood the principles of authority and he was afraid his friend would be inflicted.

" I don't know. I asked a few people to help me, but we can't rule out other possibilities. After all, we have too many enemies."

Colena closed her eyes with sadness. Justice didn't exist in the upper echelons because just a person would be an eyesore to the most. Hence, they would kill those people without any mercy or corrupt them. It was the law of the jungle.
