The meeting

Jack was sitting down in a large stone chair that had smooth arms and seat but sharp and jagged spikes at the back of the seat and edges of the arms.

It was quite an imposing sight as the surroundings looked like a medieval castle with a large fireplace filled with wooden logs that burned from the blazing flames.

Weapons lined the walls on one side of the wall while another held pieces of framed art from a variety of environments such as floating clouds and raging storms.

A wide and elongated obsidian table dominated the centre of the room with no other chairs on the side except the two on the ends with one holding jack.

The other held Nancy, and they both stared at each other in complete silence, and the air itself seemed to have halted.

This scene would cut a great and intimidating image if the tap people involved weren't feeling extremely awkward and anxious.

This may not show in the future after going through the flames of the games, but right now, they both reverted to just being regular old humans.

It was also a divergence between two very different people, with one being a 41-year-old black American woman with 4 kids and widowed. The other is a 19-year-old white British man with no family, so they were quite different from a basic standpoint.

But difference doesn't mean opposition, and once the ice was broken between the two of them, they could for once talk honestly with each other about their experience.

"It's nice to see that you're okay Nancy"-Jack

"You to Jack it seems with both managed to keep it together"-Nancy

"Quite a crazy ride, we've been forced to ride on you and I, but I'm sure we'll make it off"-Nacy

"Yea, we've just got to fight against the motion sickness, and then we can get off and back home"-Jack

"But anyway, we seemed to have come into quite a situation, haven't we? "-Jack

"Yea, even at my age, I don't think I have anything to say about this, so I guess we've just gotta go with what's thrown at us"-Nancy

"So I guess I'll get straight to it then and start from my end, and then you can go on to yours, then we can work this out if that's okay with you"-Jack

"Sure, but will we go into everything like past and race or list what's happened the last week or so"-Nancy

"Well we're still basically strangers so let's just say our race's name and what we can see what they look like and then just what's happened this week and how it got to that point"-Jack

"That sounds good. Go ahead"-Nancy

"Okay, well, my race is called the Jackrixis"-Jack

"After yourself?"-Nancy

"I couldn't think of anything cool to be honest, but yes, and how this started have I received a quest to go into and reach the centre of the blizzard my race discovered"-Jack

"That's surprising, but now I know we can be involved in quests which are interesting and also kind of disturbing"-Nancy

"Yea, but we can't change that sadly, but yeah, I got a quest, and so I told my race to find a way to break through the blizzard and then fight or discover whatever was inside"-Jack

"Wait, so you didn't know about my race and didn't have to bring them back?"-Nancy

"Nope, that's why I was worried in case something crazy like a dragon appeared and killed them lucky that didn't happen"-Jack

"Must have been quite a shock for you to see them when your race entered the blizzard"-Nancy

"Yes, it was, but I'm glad it went well, and the preparations made helped get your race out of there"-Jack

"Right now, they are both staying at a place where my rixis are, and they both seem to be getting along"-Jack

"Yes, I thank you for that too as for some reason the blizzard messed with my ability to watch my race, so I must inform you I may not know everything about them"-Nancy

"Well, it seems like you got screwed over, but I'm sure things will get better"-Jack

"If this goes well"-Nancy

"I hope it does"-Jack

"Anyway, I think that it is from my end, so what about yours?"-Jack

"Oh well, my race is called Little Blues, and I have to be honest. I was thinking about my kids when I was making them, hence the name and look"-Nancy

"I was shocked, I admit, but in a good way, at least they weren't a dragon"-Jack

"Yea that's what I was happy about when it came to the blizzard is it kept the monsters out and was like a shield but when I realized they couldn't get out then it became more of a prison"-Nancy

"And not to sound like I'm holding back, but that's pretty much it my race hasn't managed to do much as all they had was a forest with some berries and a small Lake"-Nancy

"That's it so I must thank you for getting them out and I'm guessing that's why you got the quest is because just seeing my race get slaughtered by one of the end game players would be boring for them"-Nancy.

"Bad for ratings"-Jack

"Yea, so are we gonna go into what happens now? Will you finish off my race and be down one more opponent?"-Nancy

"Well, no, I won't be doing that as this conversation wouldn't be happening if I did. I have an idea I would like to try"-Jack

"And what is that jack or wait? Let me guess I become your servant?"-Nancy

"What, god no!"-Jack

"Oh, good, sorry, I guess I've just been thinking about the worst options"-Nancy

"Listen, it's always been my belief I will survive if I have some people backing me up, so I would like to propose an alliance"-Jack

"Go on"-Nancy

"Well, I hope that we work together and protect each other from the other candidates and try to get to the end of the game together"-Jack

"There's one problem their jack they explicitly stated there will be only one winner"-Nacy

"Which is the worst-case outcome, and I think then we would split and be the last to fight, but it's my hope the system would recognize the alliance and allow us to both leave"-Jack

"Not to be a downer, but I'm guessing it's going to be the latter"-Nancy

"Well, all I can do is hope"-Jack

"Well, have you checked to see if we can even do this yet?"-Nancy

"I have, but maybe the situation will change it, and even if it isn't, we can still be allies just in name"-Jack

"Knowing the game, they would probably make quests for us to kill each other"-Nacy

"I wouldn't though"-Jack

"I'm pretty sure they'd make it hard to resist through rewards or just using force"-Nacy

"Hey, system, can I create an alliance between me and nancy"-Jack

[]After discussing with candidate 2s system, we have decided that will be a negative[]

"Dammit, really! "-Jack

"Well, at least we tried"-Nancy

This was shown to both of them, and they both asked the same question.

"What's it do? "-Jack/Nancy

[]Well you can put your fears to rest this isn't absolute control of the person but they will be seen as your subordinate and their race will come under yours which you have 3 spaces for[]

"Wait, what so I can have 2 more subordinates!?"-Jack

[]Indeed host you are the first to discover this part of the system and it allows for a key part of the game which is a mix of leadership, domination, and subordination but also resourcefulness among the plethora of other things[]

"So I will have to be lower than him?"-Nancy

[]Not necessarily Jack wouldn't have control over how your race evolves or what skills they earn or get it's more about him being your boss.

In the sense that you can't take actions that would harm him or his race, and you would lose a small amount of control but would still be in charge of your race[]

"Well, what's one of the things I would lose?"-Nancy

[]Your race would lose the religion system and will instead be integrated into Jack if he has one[]

"Does he?"-Nacy

"It was worth a try anything else?"-Nancy

[]You can still do quests and earn the rewards, but all your points would go to Jack and would lose the shop[]

"Indeed, but just wondering why are we assuming Jack would be the boss?"-Nancy

Jack thought in his head.

"41-year-old American with 4 kids and seems to be quite smart and resilient and probably has some decent knowledge and instincts while I'm just a kid in her eyes"-Jack

"I understand it was a pleasure talking to you. I'll make sure my race gives yours time to leave for new pastors"-Jack

"Hm, what no, you stupid idiot I'm joining you!"-Nancy

"Really, but I'm sure you wouldn't want me to be your boss and order you around"-Jack

"Listen closely, Jack, from what I've seen so far, you've been quite nice to me, so I don't think you'd order me around"-Nancy

"But I also could just ignore you if I wanted as the system said I'm not a slave and if you think you could boss me around you would need an Irish level of luck to do that"-Nancy

"But most of all jack I'll do anything to get back to my kids I don't give a hell if you're younger than me or what skin you have or country you're from I will do whatever gets me back to them"-Nancy

"Cause they are all I have, and am they are what's getting me through this, and they will be what keeps me fighting to my last breath"-Nancy

"Jack, when I look at you, I don't see some genius who has it all figured out or some reneged who's storming through just catching luck wherever it lands"-Nancy

"But I do see someone who's thought and pondered on the things he does and tries to think ahead and to the future"-Nancy

"I see someone who isn't a mindless killer who actually cares about people even in the current situation"-Nancy

"I don't want to play their sick game but I have to in some capacity so if rather choose to help a good person and I don't know if that makes me a coward but if it means I leave here with a pulse it's worth it"-Nancy

"I will join you, and I can only hope that we can work together and do our best with the cards dealt to us"-Nancy
