Chapter 31: Dinner at Fifth Avenue

When Florence woke up the next morning, there was still no sign of Scott in the house. In fact, the food she had prepared was still on the table, so she assumed Scott hadn’t even been at home during the night.

She got up and ready for work after cleaning the kitchen, and didn’t bother to leave him a note. If he wanted to know about her, he knew how or where to find her.

The day went by without any news from him and it started to worry Florence. She would have heard about it by now if something bad had happened to Scott, wouldn’t she?

Florence shook her head, trying to ignore the lump in her throat, and focused on her tasks. When it was finally time for her to go home, she wondered if she was really in the mood for it. She definitely did not want to face Scott and have to go through any sort of argument with him.
