Show For II

By the time the soundtracked credits ended, the art enthusiasts were disrupted as the Creed Animations logo kickstarted again.

--------

This time an old man carrying a sled and water bottle is traversing a deserted and windy place.

At a top of a hill, a hand-levered water pump is where the old man collects water.

With every 20 or so pumps, a teensy drop of water would flow and tentatively caught by the water bottle

The old man pumps for the whole day without stopping.

When the sun sets, the old man simply lays out his sled and masterfully slide down towards his little home.

It is clear that the place is arid and has insufficient water. This is why the audience was baffled when the old man dumped his collected water into a dead little twigged tree.

By the end, the old man only gets a tiny drop of water for himself.

'The Tree' then emerges itself as the title.

A backstory commenced and the dead tree turned out to only be a dead branch.

The old man turned out to fetch water to help alleviate his daughter who was quite sickly. Cutely coughing while she draws and hopes to see a real tree.

To give her hope, he fashions a branch as a trunk and bundled green cloth as leaves.

The daughter echoes what he does in the future, where a large amount of water was allocated to the dead tree.

She became happy until the day when the man returned home to find that the fake tree was toppled and her daughter was heartbroken.

Years pass, his daughter is gone but he still continues to fetch water for the branch to give hope to his late daughter.

One day, a sandstorm appears and the old man defends the fake tree with all he can.

As he is buried by the storm of sand and desperately protects the fake tree, a vision appears where her grown-up daughter is happy under a big and healthy tree.

It all ends with the storm gone and a mound of sand burying the old man whilst the fake tree still stands to represent perseverance and hope.

A melodic soundtrack sounded as the credits rolled.

The audience reeled. The short film didn't have the 'realistic' figure of an old man and a girl, instead, it had geometric simplicity. Yet, they still realized what they represented and got touched by their story.

--------

The next one started and was different from the clear geometry and shapes of 'The Tree', the style has no solidity but still had forms.

It starts with a man standing near a pool of blood.

A few years pass, the man wakes up in his house with a lively girl cooking his breakfast. Her blue eyes were quite eye-catching.

Her cooked breakfast for him was burnt while his cooked breakfast for her was pristine and clear.

Their breakfast plates laid out at the table symbolized one as charred and burnt while the other is fresh and promising.

Their wisened papa and curious daughter dynamic were quite clear in their conversations.

As the girl fiddled around with his letters, the papa inadvertently talked about his past as a bounty hunter who hunts bad guys.

He is a retired one and the girl would cutely babble about his job. She wanted to know why he quit.

Under their lively back and forth, the mystery of the early pool of blood was slowly being revealed.

At that time, he is set to arrest a criminal lady. The lady strangely has the same blue eyes as the little girl.

The criminal lady and the bounty hunter scuffle and ended with the lady dying as a pool of blood forms around her.

The hunter fiddled around the room and a baby girl in the cradle was covered by a mantle for hiding.

The hunter took the girl in and set the events to their cute talk at the breakfast table on Father's Day.

The retired hunter found out that there was another way to thwart bad guys and that was to raise them right before they could become one.

All the while, jazzy tunes, and distortion played in the background. It all ends with 'Bounty' plastered as the title.

The credits rolled again and the reflection of the audience commenced.

For Alexander, he had to commend the visiting daughter of an animator whose voice was perfect for the role.

------

The next film followed without delay after the familiar logo.

The scene starts with a French violin background and a couple gazing lovingly at each other in a coffee shop.

The loving scene was suddenly cut off as the boy dumps the girl on the spot.

As she reels in shock as the boy walks out with confidence, a black smudge that is shaped like a crow appeared on her head.

'On My Mind' tells the day-to-day of a heartbroken girl who is haunted by an imaginary bird.

On the first day after the breakup, she is constantly irritated at the crow's antics.

It pesters her as she readies for the day. It pesters her at work. It pesters her on her commute. It pesters her as she tries to buy her regular coffee at that fated coffee shop.

She berates the pesky crow as she noticed her ex-boyfriend already moving on and dating another girl.

Over the days, she becomes numb to the crow's antics and just lets it rest on her as she follows her routine.

She became lively as time passed but she had long stayed away from the familiar coffee shop. The crow still lingers by her throughout that time.

When she finally gets the courage to go inside to order her regular coffee, she also spots her ex.

Eventually, she let go and also decides to try a coffee blend quite different from what she is used to.

With a smile, she went outside and nodded towards the pesky crow to tell it that she is ready for new things.

The crow then sets off to the distance, ready to pester another heartbroken person.

The French violins sounded as the credits played with them.

The audience enjoyed the simple story while the insightful people realized the symbolism of the black crow.

For Alexander, he saw how it portrayed the five stages of grief, from her denial to acceptance.

Credits to all the animators that made all these happen.

This is just going to be plain horrendous, silly, and more disgusting than my main trashy work.

You've been warned!
