NO GIRLS

"Did you know they were classmates in middle school? They suddenly reunited here. What a lovely love story." Henry said to Sky dramatically.

"Classmates?" Sky looked a little lost as he turned his attention to Chris. "Then why are you just in your freshman year? How old are you?"

"That's a good question. Why didn't I think of that?" Henry said to himself as all eyes on the table turned to Chris.

Chris looked at Sky, who was obviously waiting for an answer, and smiled warmly as he started, "I..."

Seeing how he had gotten his attention, Chris completed his sentence, "...am not telling." Before the smile left his face and he resumed drinking his beer.

Since Sky liked to be mysterious, he was going to be the same.

Sky scoffed and poured himself a drink as he said, "How childish."

"So you're probably the same age as us?" Noel asked with interest, but Chris simply shrugged and didn't give them an answer.

"I guess that must be why you are always together," Sky said, looking at Rachel, who looked confused.

"You only saw us together twice." Chris reminded him.

"And you've only been here for a couple of days." Sky reminded him too before asking, "And what's with the contact lens?"

Chris ignored him again and just drank his beer while Rachel looked at Chris, wondering what contact lenses they were talking about.

Reading the look Chris was giving her and remembering he had been wearing a contact lens, she guessed he must have been caught like this or it had skipped his mind.

"Why are you giving me 'the' attitude tonight?" Sky asked Chris with displeasure.

"When did I give you any attitude?" Chris asked, wondering what was wrong with him and why he was making a big deal out of nothing.

"You are giving me an attitude tonight," Sky asked, still looking displeased.

"So you're saying that I am being dramatic?" Chris honestly didn't know why he was being so dramatic right now. Yeah, he knew he was being dramatic.

"Guys, it's okay! We came here to have fun. No fighting." Henry said as he tried to dispel the tension in the air, just as two girls came to their table.

For the two minutes they stood there, they did nothing but flirt with Sky while trying to invite themselves to join their table, which was obviously full, but Sky didn't give them any attention at all as he just focused on drinking while looking grumpy.

It wasn't until Rain glared at the two girls that they finally left, feeling embarrassed.

It felt kind of strange to Chris. Because he was used to being the centre of attention. There was no party he didn't go to where he wasn't approached by at least half of the girls in the party, even the ones with boyfriends. But here, he felt kind of invincible. Not that he looked ugly now, but these people must have seen more if they were going for looks. And he wasn't exactly looking fashionable right now or flaunting his parents' wealth. A party is not a party without girls flirting with him, so his ego was beginning to get bruised.

"You're new here." A girl said, getting his attention.

She had just approached their table and kept her eyes on Chris. Her timing made him smile. At least there was one person not blind here.

"Correct." He answered, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically.

"I'm Emily. Nice to meet you." The girl smiled. She was gorgeous.

One thing Chris has noticed about these people too is the fact that most of them dress quite modestly, unlike where he came from. Just like her. She wore a grey coat that was buttoned to the top and an orange beanie cap. She also had a very beautiful smile and had a glass of beer in her hand.

"My pleasure," Chris said as he extended his hand for a handshake, which she gladly accepted.

"Would you like to join my table?"

No girls. Focus.

He reminded himself.

"That's sweet of you, but it would be rude to ditch my buddies here. Maybe some other time?"

NO GIRLS!

"Alright. Can I have your number then?"

"If we bump into each other again, then it's fate. We can exchange contacts then." He winked.

Emily chuckled and nodded. "See you around then." She blew him a kiss before she turned and walked away.

"That was smooth!" Henry said excitedly, laughing.

"I was just about to say that!" Noel exclaimed. "If you knew who Emily's father is, you'd have knelt on one knee while giving her your number."

"Who's her father?" He asked curiously, wondering if he was some bigshot he had heard of before.

"Peter Calvin."

"Uhm... I don't know that name." Chris said honestly.

"He owns the biggest hotel in this town, so obviously, you wouldn't have known someone like him. No offence, but he is beyond your level. All of us' level."

Those words made Rachel let out a laugh and quickly apologize as she covered her mouth while trying not to glance at Chris. If only they knew who he was.

"Princess Rachel is far higher than our level. You forgot that." Noel said to Henry, who remembered that Rachel was known around school for being a real-life princess who was also modest and not showing off her family's wealth but trying to blend in with the rest of them.

"So you two are not dating?" Sky asked, looking between Chris and Rachel.

"We are not," Rachel answered, a little embarrassed and thankful that Sky changed the topic.

"Are you interested in Emily now?" Rain asked Chris curiously.

"No," he replied, drinking.

"So you'll share your number when you meet again?" Sky asked, locking eyes with Chris over his own glass of beer as he drank.

"Shouldn't I? Are you jealous?" Chris teased as he put down his glass.

Sky also put down his glass and nodded as he said, "Yes, dear."

The others looked at the two in amusement before bursting into laughter.
