SOUNDLESS SLEEP

As the carriage pulled up to the grand castle, I could feel the adrenaline still coursing through my veins. The battle had left me exhilarated, my senses heightened and my heart racing. But mixed in with the thrill of combat was a deep longing, a desire that had been building within me for days.

The guards at the castle gate gave us questioning looks, their eyes lingering on the disheveled state of our attire. But instead of feeling self-conscious, I felt a surge of defiance. I knew I must have looked wild and untamed, but in that moment, I didn't care.
