Gastone huffed before stopping. He had run for an hour, and he was dripped with sweat. Navin gave up after a few minutes and waited for Gastone to return while he relaxed on the tree.
"Ah! It's so hot today," Gastone complained while wiping the sweat with his shirt.
"For you, but the breeze here cooled my skin," Navin stated, acting like a sassy brat.
"Hmm," Gastone hummed and ignored Navin's words. He rested on the ground as his mind drifted back to Lucia.
The silence between the two men was loud, but Navin decided to end it.
"Tomorrow is the last day your mate will stay?" Navin asked, glancing at Gastone.
"Yes," Gastone replied nonchalantly. He lowered his head and sighed deeply. He started to feel a painful prick in his chest but tried to subdue it so that he would not hinder Lucia.
