"Did Mathieu's mother's words hurt you?" Édouard asked.
"A bit," Charlotte truthfully said. "Though I understand her anger at being a mother, she should have thought in my perspective too. Which woman will want her husband to die early?" Anger was visible in her voice and the pain too.
Édouard decided not to work. He closed the file in his hand and placed it on the table.
"You are right, Charlotte. No woman will want her husband to pass away early. She stepped onto your dignity and it is the time we must show how her son's act became the reason for his death," Édouard asserted.
"How did you plan to find out what Mathieu was into? I was with him for a long time, yet I could not see what was lying behind the facade he had worn," Charlotte stated. She was disappointed because she couldn't find the true character of Mathieu.
