Chapter 5: Betrayal?

In the outskirts of the Karatachi Clan Compound - Midnight

The fog was rather heavy tonight; little to no moonlight shone through the gaps in the fog. It was even more so when the heavy dark clouds covered the sky.

It looked like it would rain heavily tonight.

To the south of the Karatachi Clan compound a group of twenty shinobi could be seen huddled together waiting for the word to move.

As they waited in silence, they finally saw what they were waiting for, a bat descending from the dense fog landing onto one of the shinobi's shoulders.

It was small in size, black eyes, and black fur.

It nudged against the shinobi letting out small, almost impossible to hear shrieks if one didn't pay attention to.

The shinobi waited for the bat to finish its report.

Once it was finished he nodded to the other ninjas, it was the sign that the last light went out and all clan members should be within the compound asleep.

They made their way to the Karatachi Clan's compound, silently as they could as they navigated through the fog.

Their group consisted of the alliance members of the Yua clan, Toru Clan, and the Fuji Clan.

They were sent by their respective clans to ensure the destruction of the Karatachi Clan, a worry of the Three clan alliance as they did not capture the main bloodline of the Karatachi.

Although the Karatachi is a strong bloodline it's been declining in strength as no one in the recent generation have been able to manifest the Storm release.

As they traveled Jumping tree from tree mentally preparing themselves to exterminate the clan. It started to rain heavily but that didn't deter them from completing their task.

They made a detour entering from the east of the Clan's compound.

Splitting into five groups, consisting of two groups of three, two groups of four, and one group of six.

The groups of six is tasked with heading directly to the middle of the house eliminating the older main bloodline while kidnapping the children.

They split it up and headed to their respective tasks.

The group of six had just arrive at the entrance of the Clan's head house planning on check of all ways of entering when lightning flashed.

A creaking sound could be heard as the Three Clan Alliance shinobi stopped and watched as the door to the Clan head's house slowly opened.

They could see a silhouette of a child just standing behind the door.

Seeing the figure the shinobi in the front with no hesitation walked towards the kid to silence him to prevent alerting the Karatachi shinobi of their presence.

However, the moment he stepped forward another flash of lightning passed, lighting up the silhouette of the child.

He was short and appeared to be six years old, but he had a stoic face, and bright pink eyes that were illuminated by the flash of lightning,

Except the bright pink eyes continued to be illuminated even as the lightning passed.

Feeling something wrong, the shinobi in the lead attempted to put distance between him and the child in front of him.

To his dismay lightning appeared onto the boy's right hand crackling as it spread through the air using the rain as conduits stunning him and his allies.

Before they could even make a move lightning appeared onto the other hand doing the same as he did with the right hand.

The boy continuously rotated between using the right and left hand.

After an unknown amount of times of using a low voltage lightning release Ritsu was satisfied with the unconscious twitching enemy shinobi.

Ritsu stepped toward enemy shinobi as he grabbed a couple of tags he prepared beforehand, throwing it at them, and once it landed onto the bodies of the shinobi it would drain them from all their chakra releasing it into the environment.

A tag that Ritsu theorized while he was studying fuinjutsu, and the human body. He was not completely sure if it was safe but the worst that could be was that they would die not that it mattered to him.

However the shinobi at the back dissipated into water before the tag could land on him.

Ritsu put himself alert and sensed the surroundings, hoping he could find signs of the shinobi that disappeared before his eyes.

His gut feeling told him to move from the spot he was so he dodge to the left dodging the kunai that came from above.

The enemy shinobi was on the roof of his house.

Ritsu put distance between him and the enemy shinobi as he activated his identify ability.

[Riku Yua - Jonin

Kekkei Genkai: None

Bloodline: 11%

Summary: A man who saw the true nature of the human being. At the age of twelve he stood witness as his clan betrayed the Karatachi Clan, a clan that helped them throughout the ages.

Then at the word of the patriarch the Yua clan betrayed a Clan who they had been allied for over fifty years without a second thought.

It was on that day Riku Yua understood that one could only worry for themselves and only themselves and one the day that the Yua Clan betrayed the Karatachi Clan his father died in battle leaving him an orphan with no relatives in the clan.

Despite being a man who believes that he could only depend on himself, as he has gotten older he started to feel the need to have someone he could confide in, someone who could give him familiar love and a family. A son who he could call his own.]

Ritsu after briefly going over the information spoke to the enemy ninja,

"Well if it's not a shinobi from the bastard Yua Clan."

Riku showed no reaction to his clan being disrespected and instead kept his eyes on Ritsu looking for an opportunity.

Seeing Riku's reaction Ritsu slightly lowered his stance, as he spoke to Riku once more,

"Are you willing to die for a dog clan that betrayed their most trusted ally just so they can stand around other dogs."

Perhaps not taking Ritsu seriously Riku lowered his vigilance and stance,

"It was not my fault that my clan took advantage of an opportunity that led to the demise of the Karatachi Clan", scoffed Riku.

Hearing Riku's word, Ritsu showed a smile reaching to his cheek bones,

"Well since it wasn't your Clan's fault for our demise as one could argue that the Karatachi Clan let its guard down, is that right?"

"That's right"

"Then it wouldn't be your fault if you caused the demise of your Clan, is that right?"

Riku narrowed his eyes, "What makes you think I will betray my clan?"

"You're getting old, you hesitated to kill me at the beginning, if I had to guess why it's because you don't agree with kill children but you went on this mission because completing it would raise your standing amongst your clansmen.

After all you could always get your subordinates to kill them instead, but at the moment they seem to be incapacitated, and the others should be aprehended right about now.

Also don't forget the fact that you are even listening to me right now, just shows you are a person who just thinks for themselves and will jump ship when things go wrong.

But the most important thing isn't the fact that things aren't going your way, or the fact that I could get you what you want the most, but its the fact…" taking a pause, before looking into Riku's eyes, " that you have no choice."

At the end of Ritsu's words he started to build up lightning onto his hand at an unimaginable speed.

Riku's body started to sweat profusely, his heart started to beat rapidly, and his mind repeatedly sent signals throughout his entire body to move, to run, his life was in danger.

However to his dismay no matter how hard he tried he couldn't move his body, as he moved his eyes to look down he saw symbols coursing throughout his entire body.

Realizing that the house's roof was a trap with a fuinjutsu formation, Riku's face was in horror, no matter how good he may be he cannot escape from a fuinjutsu formation.

Moving his eyes back up towards Ritsu last known location he was gone, right before he felt an electric current coursing through his body threatening to make him unconscious.

Riku gritted his teeth in an attempt to resist the temptation of going unconscious.

"Oh so this much isn't enough to knock you out? Well as expected of a Jonin you make valuable material for my experiments."

Riku moved his eyes to the left only to see Ritsu's glistening pink eyes and devilish smile.

As his consciousness faded he could not figure out how Ritsu reached his side within seconds.

Ritsu watched as Riku's body turned limp; however, Ritsu didn't let his guard down and kept the formation active till he placed a draining tag onto Riku's body.

The fuinjutsu formation didn't require the use of hand seals.

The requirement to use the fuinjutsu formation is to be a master in fuinjutsu to understand the formation and make use of it properly along with a suitable amount of chakra poured into the formation.

This fuinjutsu formation altered the person's, within the formation, sense of time.

After making sure the draining tag worked with no side effects, Ritsu released the formation.

Ritsu proceeded to gather the enemy shinobi together and bound them with rope that just happened to be within the house, keeping his mind from wandering too much.

Just as he finished roping up the last enemy shinobi a group of clansmen approached him with the rest of the enemy shinobi.

Once the majority of the enemy shinobi were gathered they counted twenty bodies, fifteen of them were bound up and the other five were dead.

Ritsu looked to Chikao who arrived with a heavy face, was sweating and huffing profusely. There were traces of blood all throughout his body.

Unclear whether the blood were his or the enemies.

Perhaps sensing the worry of Ritsu, Chikao scoff, "I still have some strength left in these old bones of mine."

"Old man if I recall correctly you're sixty-one years old this year, you should be thinking about retiring."

"Nonsense, how could I retire when we have enemies at our door, but most importantly all these years I believed that the Yua clan were our allies all the times we treated them as brothers instead they came to exterminate us." Said Chikao as eyed the tied up shinobi with a symbol of two diagonal lines that the Yua clan uses.

Ritsu looked Chikao in eyes.

The old man's eyes showed a will that he would die for the greater good of the clan or perhaps it's the will to get revenge.

"Was anyone injured?" Ritsu asked.

"We have many injured but they're just slightly injured, even with the preparation that we have and the element of surprise we still have one dead.

Death is inevitable in conflict, boy remember this there's nothing you can do to prevent this."

Ignoring Chikao's statement Ritsu asked, "What was the cause of his death?"

"Enra managed to get pricked by a kunai throw unluckily it was laced with a strong poison." Responded a clansman who was presumably with the deceased.

"Who killed him?"

"I- I- I killed the enemy shinobi young master please forgive, I disobeyed your order of apprehending the him please give me a punishment!" The clansmen bowed his head to Ritsu.

Ritsu stood there with a stoic face despite the short stature, the surrounding clansmen didn't dare to look down as the eyes emanated cold gaze.

"I am mad, but I am not mad at the fact that you killed a shinobi that killed one of our clansmen.

I am mad at the fact that you think that I prioritize my orders above all else.

The number one order that exceeds my order is to come back alive.

If you're met a challenge that is beyond you then live and fight another day it doesn't matter if you run with no hesitation.

This is why I train everyday so that I can crush any problem we may face.

However, I may be willing to crush any problem in our way. I am not willing to help those who just run at the first sight of danger.

Enra was a clansman who fought for the clan. He is an honorable shinobi. We will honor him after we deal with the Three Clans.. If there's nothing more then I will prepare for our counter attack.

Everyone should be prepared to move out tomorrow."

"Ritsu it is not reasonable we attack especially since we don't the situation of the clans," said Chikao in desperation,

"As much I would like to attack the clans to find out what they did with the scattered clansmen along with the Yua Clan turning into the Fuji Clan's dog.

It's better we wait till you're older, Ritsu."

Said Chikao as looked at Ritsu's small body he looked like a child who had just unlocked his chakra.

"What I'm hearing is that you don't believe I'm strong enough."

"Ritsu you're strong at your age, unbelievably so but there is…"

Interrupting Chikao continuing his sentence,

"always someone stronger than you. I believe in this saying but I won't be attacking with just strength alone. I have a plan." Ritsu said as looked at his captives with a grin

"As the young master of the Karatachi Clan this is an order. Now I must prepare for tomorrow."

Chikao sighed as he got the clansmen to disperse, sending some clansmen to help Ritsu move them to a prepared house they had.
