"Did you ask him for the antidote?" Lin Caisang inquired.
This was the key issue; as for those other things, she genuinely had little interest in them. At most, they were just something to irritate the emperor slightly.
"I did, but I have to wait."
When the mention of the antidote came up, Ya Molian's eyes dimmed a notch.
"Wait? Wait for what?"
Lin Caisang was puzzled. Wasn't it the emperor himself who had poisoned him? So the antidote must be on his person, right? Why would there be any waiting?
Could it be that the emperor had hidden the antidote in a very secretive place, fearing that Ya Molian might send someone to follow him and then steal all of the antidote? At that point, wouldn't he lose his control over Ya Molian?
But that didn't make sense either.
Even if all the antidote were to be stolen, it was only meant to delay the effects of the poison, not the real cure. What good would it do?
