Chapter 49

Madison

This week, I'd managed to see Hunter all of two times. No more was he flirting with me, or even trying to be nice. If anything, I had the distinct impression that he was avoiding me.

I should have been happy about him getting the message, but I wasn't. If anything, I felt a little disappointed.

It was Friday, and I'd been looking forward to my single moms' club all week. It was the only thing I got to do that didn't consist of working.

As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I knew there was something strange going on. Marta, Cat, and Lena were standing in the spot reserved for me.

The way that they were standing with their arms crossed, I knew that they weren't happy. I sighed, knowing I had to have the balls to do the one thing I'd been avoiding for the last few weeks-I had to tell Tiana that she had to go.

I took a deep breath, parked the car, and slowly opened the door. I couldn't even open it properly, though, much less get out, with them all crowded around.
