The Replacement

As Kanzaki and the rest of his team waited for the replacement to show up Fria began informing them of some news she had found out, "If you all didn't know, apparently there are already a record number of people waiting for the stream to start. Some of the streamers in the tournament are even getting huge amounts of new followers!" Fria said with clear anticipation in her voice.

The reason she had said something like this was not only for herself but also to let Kanzaki and Samuel know that there was an opportunity for huge growth during the tournament. Kanzaki was able to pick up on this immediately making him smile and pump his fist with the hope that he would do well during this tournament.

However, what he didn't know was that there were many teams doing the same thing after hearing the news. Some teams had even specially prepared for Kanzaki's team after seeing how well he had been doing in the game thus far.

"Hey, Mask I did have one question for you." Fria said to Kanzaki catching his attention and making him wonder what she had to ask since it sounded important.

"What is it?" Kanzaki asked in confusion.

"Are you going to the convention tomorrow perchance?" Fria asked out of nowhere.

At first, Kanzaki was confused about what she could have meant but then he remembered the sign he had passed when he went to the store the other day realizing that she had been placed on there as a featured guest.

"Well-" Kanzaki had started to say when the sound of someone joining the call was suddenly heard. Kanzaki immediately paused and so did Samuel as they turned their attention to the new person while Fria was banging her desk in frustration as the person had ruined her moment.

When Kanzaki looked at the name of the new person that joined the call he was more than a little surprised. He even forgot to breathe after reading the name.

"Hey Mask isn't that name the same as the mod of your stream except without the not part?" Samuel asked in confusion as he was the first to come back to his senses as Fria had just realized the name as well.

"Yeah, it is." Kanzaki said still stunned by the name. At this point, the other three were just waiting for the person to speak so they could find out whether or not they had a connection to Kanzaki.

"Hello everyone. Thank you for having me on such short notice." The voice from the person named NotBoss413 said ringing throughout all of Kanzaki's team's ears. When Kanzaki heard it he immediately recognized the voice which left him speechless for multiple moments while his friends recovered.

"No worries! We are glad to have you on the team." Samuel said with excitement when he heard it was a female's voice.

However, Fria was not so forthcoming with nice greetings when she realized somehow another girl had ended up on their team despite all her efforts to make sure she was the only girl so she could be with Kanzaki.

"It's nice to meet you. I'm Rose13 and the captain of this team." Fria said with clenched teeth as she was still a little annoyed that the new person had interrupted her moment with Kanzaki but even madder that the only mod could potentially be a girl in the tournament with them.

The other two waited for Kanzaki to introduce himself but he was still slightly shaken by a realization that he refused to share with any of the people he was talking with especially since Samuel had just decided to start his stream moments ago.

"It's nice to meet you as well I'm Mask." Kanzaki said almost stuttering as he said the words. However, her response was something that none of them had expected despite them already having a good idea of who she was.

"Ah, yes. I already knew that since I'm your only mod after all." NotBoss413 said catching Fria and Samuel, especially off guard since they hadn't expected her to say it so bluntly. Since she hadn't mentioned it from the beginning they thought she was trying to keep it a secret but apparently not.

Kanzaki was less shocked by his mod showing up in a situation like that but instead was more shocked at the voice that came from NotBoss413, 'I know that exact voice. I would never forget it no matter how long I live.' Kanzaki thought to himself as millions of questions began forming in his mind.

One thing that he did know was that there was a tournament to win and that he could get the answers to all of his questions at a later date, "If you are just a mod then how did you get in this streamer-only tournament anyway?" Fria asked in confusion as her first concern came to light.

When Fria asked this Samuel and even Kanzaki were interested as well since Kanzaki was certain that this person wasn't a streamer and by no means had the time to stream anyway.

NotBoss413 seemed ready for this question and immediately answered, "Well they weren't able to find a replacement for Crasher so I contacted them and asked if I could do it." She said confusing Fria especially since she had assumed her agent would tell her something like this since she was the captain after all.

"So they just let you on because you asked?" Fria said in confusion wondering if there was a way to replace her with someone else.

"Yeah and don't think about someone else I already checked with the Witch team and they said you guys would be disqualified without me." NotBoss413 said setting her foot down that she would be staying there no matter what kind of protest Fria had.

When Fria heard this she gritted her teeth but didn't say anything since she and the rest of her teammates had worked too hard to be disqualified right before it started. Even if NotBoss413 was bad at the game she felt confident that they could win.
