Tan Rou arrived at the table, where Tao Zheng and Tao Qi were already seated. After Mother Tao brought the last soup, she too sat down to dine.
"Where's your dad?" asked Mother Tao.
Tan Rou glanced in the direction of the study, "Daddy seems to be organizing some documents."
"Oh," realized Mother Tao, it must be about the Tan family's files.
Sure enough, Father Tao appeared shortly afterward, still wearing the same gentle expression Tan Rou knew so well.
"Let's eat," said Mother Tao.
Tao Qi wasn't very interested in eating; he stared at the vegetables on the table for a long time without picking up his chopsticks.
Mother Tao disliked Tao Qi being picky about his food, "Xiao Qi, no being choosy, you have to eat both meat and vegetables."
Tao Qi missed the vegetables made by Tan Rou. He felt that only those deserved the name "stir-fried vegetables," and that no others should even be brought to the table.
