"Okay, the both of you are starting to creep me out," Anabel started. "Oliver, turn this car around right now." Panic elevated the pitch of her voice as she squeaked, "Turn around!"
"You need to calm down," Oliver told Anabel, but he didn't tear his eyes off Alia's pale face.
Alia's eyes were dilated as she scanned the woods, and her ears were keen to hear the faintest sounds. She was looking for something or someone, the reason for her and Oliver's uneasiness...whatever or whoever it may be.
"Calm down?!" Anabel questioned. She pulled on her red hair, "The both of you are acting weird, and I'm freaking the fuck out!"
"It's gone," Alia interjected. Her breathing calmed as she looked at Oliver before repeating, "It's gone." She rubbed her chest, which was being attacked from the inside by her racing heart. "I don't feel it anymore."
"Can someone please tell me what's going on?!" Anabel tried butting in.
