Chapter 62 - Irene, queen of dragon

Caelum almost choked eating his apple when he read the new side mission. He ponders the reason why the system gave him the mission and vaguely guesses the queen was an important character in the story of Fairy tail.

It was unfortunate that certain memories prevented him from knowing specific things and was like an ignorant frog.

'I wonder what she looks like? Guess there's no helping, at least by meeting her I can get access to her library.'

He stared at the apple since every time his eating or craving one always led to having a new woman to pursue. Caelum sighed and finished the apple before heading back to the castle. 

"Oh hello there!"

Caelum appeared in front of numerous and every guard stopped what they were doing before blankly staring at him. They were baffled to see someone boldly trapped in a heavily guarding castle.

"Can someone kindly capture me?"

At that moment, they immediately pointed their weapons. He only playfully smiled and raised his hand while they quickly captured him and threw him to the dungeon until they informed the queen. 

He leaned into the wall while spreading his senses, finding a person who had a certain aura around them. His eyes capable of peering through nearly anything knew that the person had great importance in the world. 

'I guess it's best to refine my bloodline.'

Caelum closes his eyes sealing the space around him to avoid affecting the world before bursting in powerful and thick [ dragon ] energy. It was flowing through his body nourishing his flesh, bones, blood, organs and skins. He could feel his Body transformation cultivation grew further than ever before. 

He reached a certain point and had permanently let his hair pitch black than red. Caelum guessed it was imperfect refinement on his part before. His strength was stronger than ever before and easily contend with acnologia in sheer physical strength alone without any transformation. 

After a while, Caelum sense people descending into the dungeon and came face to face with a beautiful woman.

'Ah? Erza?'

Inside the palace. Courtyard which is also inside the Palace. One would see a tall young, voluptuous woman with scarlet hair that one side small braids and bangs wearing a white cloak. Additionally, her outfit seems rather Skippy showing her underboob and black arm sleeves. 

She had smooth creamy white skin that could easily make any man try to take a glance. However, the young woman exude a fierce and hardened composure capable of fighting on her own. Her name was Irene, The Queen of dragons for her goal in unifying humans and dragons. 

Irene is currently inside the courtyard along with the maids who are decorating the statue of a Dragon that is surrounded with water that looked like a fountain, while the Irene and the Sage Dragon named Belserion are currently discussing that the Dragon would be going to the neighboring  kingdom with the other Dragons and check the situation because he heard of a grave news so he had to go and check the situation.

"It would seem that the conflict with humans and dragons had yet to reach its conclusion. I am ashamed of what my fellow dragons had done."

"You should not be ashamed, Berselion. Dragons and humans are not that different. We cannot always control what they do and only hope for the better. I will not give up until peace is achieved."

"Hahaha you're ancestors would be proud to see their descendants having an ambitious goal. However, I hope one day you'll find time for yourself. The fate of the human and dragon should not lie on your hands."

"I am not alone. The kingdom gave their fate to me and won't let them down."

"Hmm, you are still young even for humans. I do not wish for you to regret the choices you've made. "

Belserion viewed the child as his own and filled with pride when she spoke of her dream where dragons and humans truly join bands. However, he was unsure such a future was possible when conflict and fear produced hatred. Soon enough, a guard came rushing in that caught Irene's attention. 

"My queen, a mysterious man, wishes to meet you. He has said that it regards reports of dragons attacking a nearby human settlement."

"Is that all? Why does he wish for my audience?"

"He refused to answer and merely said his words only for you alone. We've tried to escort him out yet….something has prevented us from even touching him." 

"What do you mean?"

"The man seemed to be a powerful mage and had made invisible walls around him that we weren't able to pass through."

"A mage you say?"

The utilization of magic was currently at an early stage and mages are few where only a handful were considered to be a capable mage. Irene is intrigued to see the person capable of creating a barrier that her guard is unable to penetrate. It would be ideal to gain the favor of the said person if he was a power magic user. 

They would be able to learn magic from him and allow the humans to defend themselves against the dragons. At this time, she had yet to learn any magic and desire to find a way to harness it. She glances at the sage dragon who looking at a certain direction.

"It seems the mysterious man is a powerful mage that even I am unable to peer through."

"How strong is this person compared to you?"

"I am uncertain, however, you must take caution if you wish to speak with him. I can sense an ancient and powerful presence from him."

"Even though you're a dragon?"

"Child, I may be powerful in your eyes but there are other creatures more powerful than I. They merely do not wish to intervene in the world."

"More powerful than a dragon…"

"Go now, child. Take my warning to heart. We do not know if he is a foe or an ally."

"I will!"

Irene nodded before following the guard towards the prison where they held the man. She learned the way the mysterious mage had gotten their attention by trespassing in the castle halls and willingly let himself get caught. 

As they headed inside the dungeon where the mysterious man was imprisoned, something deep within Irene made her more eager to see the person. It didn't take long for her to find him cross legged with his hands cupped in chains yet seem bothered by it. 

The atmosphere around him was noticeable akin to facing an ancient creature and a king. Irene couldn't help but feel the pressure weighing down on her until moments later stepped back upon seeing his face. His golden eyes intently scanned her body and seemed surprised and slightly confused before giving a playful smile completely different from before.

'She can't be Erza, perhaps her ancestor?'

He was unaware of the future and did not know the misfortune that would have befalling the young woman before him. It was a setback when he was unable to know certain things for his benefit.

"My my, I didn't expect to see a beautiful woman in this place."

Irene for the first time felt her heart bit before the young man drawn by the sweet smile that he had. There was something that was telling him that there would be a day where this man would change her life. However, the queen needed to act like one and stayed composed. 

"I am flattered, my name is Irene, the queen of Dragnof, who you might be and what reason for you to personally meet me?"

"I'm Caelum Mercer, a traveller of sorts and heard about the kingdom where humans and dragons coexist. I am here to offer my help towards the humans regarding their battle against the dragons who oppose the idea of coexistence. However, in my journey to learn magic grew stagnant and I wish to ask for a library that discusses magic and anything related."

"Your help, you say? How do we trust your words? The offer you give is tempting, however, I cannot take a risk when I do not know who exactly the person i'm speaking to is nor your true intention."

"I can see your point. However, you may not notice, however, I am well capable of destroying this kingdom."

Caelum flared his aura across the kingdom causing the dragon to bow down from his presence. He was far superior than any dragons and humans. Irene shivered in fear upon the pressure weighing down into her body and stared at the young man who hardly moved and merely sat in his prison. 

'How can someone be this powerful!? Who or what is he!?'

The thought ran through her mind realizing that fighting against someone like him would lead to catastrophic calamity to befall their kingdom. However, she refused to back down and kept herself from kneeling. It was then the pressure vanished in an instant and Caelum playfully smiled.

"Forgive me, it was not my intention to hurt any of you. I was just showing that if I was your enemy then this place would be gone."

"I-It's fine, I understand why you had done that. You are well capable of ending my kingdom if you wish and yet decide to offer to help us. It is my fault for doubting your words."

"Hahaha don't get it to heart, I was not offended and would have done the same in your shoes."

"Then I would like to discuss your offer further with my trusted friend, Belserion."

He nodded and soon his chains were removed before following Irene. The maids and servants notice their queen being followed by a young man pondering who he was.

"Hope you don't mind if I ask where exactly you came from?"

"You only need to know I came from a far away land. I was given a mission to help the humans in this world. "

Caelum wasn't completely lying since he would help them as much as he could while benefiting from it. Irene felt compelled to know more about him and couldn't stop asking questions that he happily answered. 

"What magic do you use? I hear that mages are usually a single type of magic."

"My magic is special. However, I prefer to use this."

Caelum showed her his [ Silver aura ] making her curious, feeling the coldness coming from his hands. He softly smiled looking at Irene like a child and realized what she was doing blush. 

"Is this the first time you see a human use magic?"

"N-No, however, it just made me wonder if I am capable of finding the same."

"Of course you can. Though, it takes time but if you want I'll personally teach you."

Irene was grateful and eager to learn how to utilize magic. The two soon arrived at the courtyard where there were beautiful flowers and vegetation that produced a serene atmosphere even more when faced with the dragon.

"This is the sage dragon, Belserion."

"...Are you human?"

The first words that sage uttered after coming face to face with Caelum who had been trying to suppress his presence as a dragon. However, a small part leaked and was sensed by Belserion up close. Irene was confused by her friend's words then turned to look at Caelum. 

"In a way, I am. It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Caelum Mercer."

The sage dragon observed intently peering through him and found nothing else but mysterious atmospheres emanating from him. He was compelled to listen and bow down before the person in front of him. He was certain the pressure earlier came from him and didn't try to show any hostility in fear of causing a calamity to their kingdom. 

"Likewise. Child, tell me what is the reason for your visit to our kingdom?"
