Dinner Time 2

"Research number—" Mr. Graff turns into silence. He no longer remembers the thousands of research he did in his private laboratory. "Ah, never mind. I'm going to inject my new formula into the rabbit I frozen twenty years ago."

In one hand, he was holding an injection filled with a yellowish liquid that he extracted from a formula he had created from a mixture of bat DNA and other chemicals. Mr. Graff took a deep breath and let it out slowly. The rabbit in the glass tube in front of him was in a state of suspended animation. Similar to bats when they hibernate.

Mr. Graff kept an eye on the monitor that monitored the rabbit's heartbeat and breathing. The image on the monitor was almost similar to a straight line, though the line still had barely perceptible waves. The rabbit's respiratory system, heart rate, and metabolic system were deliberately weakened to survive in cold temperatures for a long time.

"If this works, Matthew has a hope to be awakened soon," said Mr. Graff before he injected the rabbit in front of him with the syringe in his hand.

He took a deep breath and injected the serum in the injection to the rabbit in front of him. After injecting the rabbit, Mr. Graff sighed again.

He took his hand out of the glove connected to the glass tube where the rabbit was. He then leaned back in his chair, watching all the vital signs on the rabbit after he had injected it.

Occasionally Mr. Graff looked at his watch to see how his serum reacted to the rabbit in the glass tube in front of him. "Come on," he muttered under his breath.

There has been no sign of a significant increase in metabolism from the monitor screen that monitors the rabbit's condition. Even his nerve impulses were still dark. There is no sign of substantial movement in the rabbit's body.

Mr. Graff scratched his head because it had been almost half an hour, but the rabbit still hadn't shown significant progress. He then put his glasses on the table next to him and massaged the bridge of his nose.

His attention was distracted again when his eyes caught sight of a flashlight from the monitor that monitored the rabbit's nerve impulses. He then put his glasses back on and looked at the rabbit in front of him.

His eyes widened when he saw the monitor monitoring the rabbit's heartbeat begin to show signs of increased heart rate. Mr. Graff became more enthusiastic when he saw the rabbit's body in front of him shaking slowly.

The monitor that monitors the rabbit's nerve impulses displays flashes of light indicating communication between nerves in the rabbit's body. "Come on, baby," said Mr. Graff excited.

"Yes, we did it!" Exclaimed Mr. Graff when he saw the rabbit in front of him slowly open his eyes. He laughed happily to see the rabbit finally open his eyes.

Mr. Graff then looked at the monitors in front of him. He wanted to make sure there were no anomalies when the rabbit finally woke up from its long slumber. He spoke again through the recorder in his hand. "After an hour, this rabbit woke up. Vital signs so far are good—"

Mr. Graff turned silent again when he saw the spike in the heart rate of the rabbit in front of him. In a hurry, Mr. Graff immediately injected the drug into the rabbit. A few moments later, the rabbit fell back asleep.

With a deep breath, Mr. Graff talked into his tape recorder. "Everything was stable until the rabbit tried to move. His heart rate increased rapidly, and he showed a heart attack."

Mr. Graff turned off his tape recorder and tucked it into the pocket of his lab coat. He then lifted the tube containing the rabbit he had just tested with his serum. Mr. Graff put it back into the mini cryonic box in his private laboratory.

After that, he took the serum sample that he had been testing. He labeled it with the date of the test and the number of the object he was trying and then put it in the refrigerator.

"It was so close. If the heart attack doesn't happen, my serum has worked. I'll have to study it again," said Mr. Graff to himself.

Mr. Graff then sat in front of his monitor. He opened the formula he used to create the serum he had used to wake the frozen rabbit. Mr. Graff had to recalculate the use of the recipe. So he could get a satisfactory result.

"Thanks for dinner," Lily said after cleaning her mouth of any leftover food on her lips.

Ryan smiled and nodded his head. "You're not in a hurry to go home, are you? There's a bar nearby. We might be able to continue our chat over a few drinks."

Lily glanced at Ryan out of the corner of her eye. "I don't believe in the word drink less. Because that means maybe you and I will drink more than we want."

"It depends on the conversation we have," Ryan said.

"Do you want to keep listening to the fairy tales of the sleeping beauty I told you?" Lily asked.

"I'm happy to spend the night with you. I still want to hear what you have to say. It's nice to see you so excited to tell about sleeping beauty," Ryan replied.

Lily blushed unconsciously after hearing Ryan's words. She grabbed the wine glass in front of her and drank its contents. After putting down her glass, Lily went back to talking to Ryan. "Before we go drinking, I have to warn you."

"Warning me about what?" Ask Ryan.

"Don't let me get drunk. You'll regret it if you let me get drunk. Alona keeps warning me about my bad habit when drunk," answered Lily.

"Okay, fine. I won't let you get drunk." Ryan laughed as he looked into Lily's blue eyes. "But maybe I wondered what you would do when you were drunk."

"You won't like it," said Lily.

"Then let's move to the bar," said Ryan.

Lily nodded slowly with a smile.

Ryan stood up from his seat and helped shift the chair Lily occupied. After paying for their dinner, they immediately left the restaurant.

It was getting late, and Ryan had a feeling his night with Lily wasn't over yet at the bar they were going to. They got back into Ryan's car, ready in front of the restaurant entrance. After that, Ryan drove the car to the bar.
