Alex Wayne POV

"Really? Then the outside world is not as simple as Mantis thought" Mantis muttered hearing what I said.

I smile seeing Mantis reflecting on what I said.

"Have you really never left this place?" I asked her.

"No, the priests never let Mantis out. Just today they told her that she was ready to explore the world, but they needed to put protections on her mind so she wouldn't be deceived" Mantis said with a smile full of joy and innocence.

Looking at her smile, I let out a minty sigh. The girl isn't stupid, it's just that she didn't want to lose what she considers a family and sometimes she ignored some things.

I look with a cold smile at the priest who has his mouth sealed.

Sensing my gaze, the priest averts his gaze.

"I didn't ask your name, did I? Mine is Alex Wayne, nice to meet you" I said to Mantis with a smile.

Hearing my name, Mantis says:

"This one's name is Mantis Brandt and she's also nice to meet Alex"

"Hey Mantis, do you want to go with us to see the outside world?" I asked her.

Mantis is surprised. She was happy for the invitation but she hesitated.

"But Mantis doesn't think the priests will let her go with you" Mantis said depressed.

"Don't worry about what they think. You just have to follow what you want, don't let yourself be held back by others" I said while looking at her seriously.

Mantis is surprised by my seriousness.

"But they took good care of this one..." Mantis said quietly.

Looking at the machine, I say:

"They told you that this machine would help you protect your mind, right?"

The girl nods saying:

"Yes, they told Mantis that in the outside world there are people who can enter her mind"

"They lied to you. This machine doesn't protect your mind but allows them to control your actions, that is, it serves to brainwash you" I said.

I know it's cruel to do it like this, but I have to show her the reality.

Mantis is stunned but quickly shakes her head, not believing my words.

I quickly approach the head priest and drag him to the machine, removing the metal from his mouth as I say:

"I'll prove it to you using this guy"

"Let go of this priest, bastard, Mantis help" he said.

Mantis just stays silent.

Ignoring the words of the priest, I say:

"Using the machine, I will make this man a good «lover» for his fellow priests"

Hearing my words, the priest's face turned pale.

The other priests in the room shuddered.

Mantis was curious and wanted to know if what I said was true.

Natasha, Polaris, Psylocke, Domino and Irene didn't know whether to laugh or cry at what I was planning to do with the priest.

But they didn't say anything about my actions.

The priest was desperate when he saw me repair the machine to do this atrocity to him.
