Vietnam (Mantis Brandt IV) Part 7

"I'm sorry, folks, but we came to recover something that belongs to us" I said.

The priest calmly looks at us and asks:

"What is the intruder looking for?"

"A book" I said bluntly.

The priest is speechless.

"Can the intruder be more specific?" the priest asked.

"Huh, how more specific? It's just a book and nothing more, once I see it, I'll know what it is" I said indifferently.

The priests were furious upon hearing my words, they knew that I was only looking for a way to enter without giving too many explanations.

"It seems that the intruders leave no other option" the priest said as he prepared to attack us.

The other priests who accompanied him also do so.

I watched them calmly. I couldn't tell them the truth about the book, so I didn't mind their attitude towards us.

The priest moved at high speed towards me.

I wasn't surprised, I knew the Kree liked to improve their genes.

Psylocke appeared near one of the priests and wrapping her whip of magical energy around him, she hurled him against the temple walls.

The priest had come in front of me to punch me.

Undeterred, I stopped his fist with my hand with ease and the priest was shocked.

And without wasting time, I put pressure on my grip and break his hand.

The priest let out a cry of pain and grabbing him by the head, I slammed him into the ground knocking him unconscious.

Polaris and the girls also quickly dealt with the other priests.

Upon knocking out the priests, I asked Psylocke to check their minds.

When she finished, she says:

"What we seek may be in the vault of the temple"

"Then take us to the vault" I said.

Psylocke nods and leads us to the vault.

"But it's surprising that there aren't many people in this place" Natasha commented as she looked around her.

"About that, based on what I saw in the mind of one of those priests, it looks like they're in some kind of ceremony" Psylocke said.

"Ceremony?" Polaris asked with doubt.

"Yes, a young woman named Mantis Brandt is being prepared to go out into the world and learn from it" Psylocke said nonchalantly, after all she wasn't very interested in that information.

When I heard the name of Mantis Brandt, I was really surprised.

I thought that girl wasn't here anymore, but it seems I'm wrong.

Guess I'll get her out of here.

After all, I didn't like how these idiots brainwashed her.

And because of them, she didn't have a good life until she met the Swordsman.
