Kane sweated because it mentioned only 5 while he killed a whole group of rapist and murderers who had people trapped in containers.

He remembered there being like 40 of them and that's not counting the ones he killed on his way trying to kill him, Kane gulped thinking of the beating Gabriel will give him if he doesn't take care of it.

He was put in a tight spot, he wanted to go and save Kendra but Gabriel sent him to take care of the rest of the evolved walkers.
