Chapter 11-3: The Restaurant of Memory

“I said, I’m sorry” she repeated with great choking, clenching her fists.

She literally wanted to escape. To be swallowed by the earth!

Considering that this Sydney was neither very frank nor remorseful, she turned towards the father with a smirk amidst furrowed eyebrows.

"Mr. Cavendish, please, for the sake of salt between us, don't forget to pay the menu and leave the blue card behind"

This young woman's malicious tongue was unbelievable.

Upon closer inspection, she didn’t seem afraid. And her background in this country was clearly not simple either.

He himself had read the situation, but Sydney’s impulsiveness and savagery due to her obsession had gone too far.

He was embarrassed.

“Then… can you lift the ban after a while?” He asked with a thoughtful look, his expression grave.

“No” her response was categorical.

“Most likely, our family likes to come here…” He pursed his lips thoughtfully and then insisted on explaining.

“It would be really awkward if she was banned alone right after that” he said carefully, pondering her response.

“Well…” She sighed.

“…That’s not my problem” She tilted her head thoughtfully, then glanced at him with sleepy eyes and slowly said.

“But… if you say so, I don’t want to see her face for a year”

“Of course. Thank you very much” He nodded in response solemnly while Sydney was completely shocked.

“Huh?”

She barely took in the reality of the situation she was in.

‘Today was unlucky’

‘Sidney, present the card.’ Mr. Harold, who turned to his daughter, said firmly without indifference, retreating, thus waiting for her response.

At this very moment, Deputy Boss appeared, looking surprised at the moody mood some were in before bidding farewell to Becca.

'Who would have expected that the first visit of the three managers to this restaurant after a long absence would cause such trouble?'

'And with whom? The army!'

He wasn't afraid. But... when he heard his last words, his face immediately darkened.

"Boss, this subordinate will act from her"' He looked very serious.

He was extremely angry. Also... 'How dare they scare his boss!'

'Have they lost their minds?' 'They're flirting with death!'

He looked alternately towards Denise, then at the person in question, then turned towards her, looking at her with reverence.

“Just...say what you have to say?” Ki-Ki sighed, speaking in Turkish.

Her tone was soft, the opposite of the situation.

“I’m sorry. I was careless and incompetent which caused you to be disrespected,” he snorted, expressing reserve.

“After a period of time had passed since you did not come to visit...it was my fault for not being disciplined” he continued, formally clasping his hands, speaking.

“Is… is it really okay to unblock her after she’s blacklisted?” He hesitated for a moment, then asked her in his own language.

He didn’t look satisfied at all.

“Of course, Mr. Harold is a good person. But his daughter is a jerk” She gave him a glance, shrugging her shoulders broadly and he grumbled.

“That's right. The idea of her liking someone he's actually going to be involved is just plain rude of her” He looked at her seriously, while his sharp comment came across as scathing.

“Relax, since when were you shy?” She sighed.

“I… I’m trying to keep up with the formalities. I was rude before. Please, don’t interrupt me”

All this time, he had been acting to her just like a perfect Deputy Boss and not like anyone else she knew.

Hand gestures, facial expressions, even his way of speaking, like his accent.

He remained tense with the feeling of sweat dripping from his brow, at some point.

But now, only those close enough to her would realize that this fake calmness was nothing but a respectful facade.

“Well, just… act!” she added, in a sharp, expressionless tone, shrugging her shoulders, then strode outside.

Immediately before that, at his signal, one of the assistant workers from her people quickly came towards her, stopped her, and said with interest.

“Excuse me, boss. This is for your cheek!”

“Oh!” She reached out to grab it.

It was a pack of ice packs inside a small, portable cooler, shaped like a bag.

“Thank you!” She smiled deeply and sweetly at her, causing the worker to nod her head gently, excitedly, then left.

“I don’t want to see you. Just send the report. The discussion is over for today!”

Dennis, who hadn’t been able to bear the situation at the time because of her noise, stared at Sydney with open hostility, then spat his respectful words in the General’s face and left quickly after her.

He was completely unsatisfied.

In the end, he felt guilty, helpless and shouted to stop her.

“Caroline”

Her very quick steps were graceful and light in movement, which required him to hurry up while pursuing her.

As soon as he reached her, he pulled her towards him with absolute smoothness, cradling her doll-like face between his palms.

“Huh..?” she gasped.

For a moment, she couldn’t comment.

Looking at his slight frown and confusion, his thin, rough fingers examined her repeatedly, gently, without realizing where the slap had been.

“I’m fine!” she whispered in a sweet feminine voice, holding his warm, masculine palm with a radiant look.

“It was an accident, I’m really fine” she said, caressing his fingertips thoughtfully.

Looking at him like that, it was clear what kind of arch between his eyebrows was, and the lump stuck in his throat, which made him look even more innocent and pitiful.

However… she wondered.

‘Has… he always been so kind to her?’

‘Was this the look he always gave her?’

‘Is this what they call warmth and satisfaction after caring?’

Looking at this mysterious and sensitive young face against the cold breeze, he couldn’t comment.

“It obviously hurts. I will take severe action towards her immediately.” In a stern voice, he expressed sternly.

“I will make sure…” he muttered with extreme anger, while she sighed.

“Okay”

“I’m sorry. Really.” “But... no one is allowed to spoil this face”

“No one is allowed to approach you or even abuse you like this, ever!” He confirmed, staring at her intently, acting like a puppy.

'Last time, she had been so kind to him, would that kindness just disappear like that?'

His face was already flushed with thought.

I know. Mr. Harold is a good person"

"Even so!" His lips trembled. His cold expression was dangerous for a moment.

"Never mind. Forget it. It's because of my disguise"

“So… if you’re really sorry, you should text me more to accept the apology” She thought for a minute trying to comfort him, while he immediately wagged his tail towards her.

“Of course”

It was a good thing that the area they were in wasn’t obvious. Otherwise, some passersby might misunderstand.
