Moving

"Laura hurry up!" I whinned crossing my legs while wiggling where I stood. This girl took forever and she blamed me for always being late or taking to long, plus I was bout to burst threw my pants.

"Laura!!! Please!" I begged pounding on the door with my fist.

Finally the door opened and my sister came waltzing out like she owned the damn place. "Gosh Dallas you couldn't wait a few more minutes, you had to rush me." She snarled turning her nose up at me as she walked away. Her light brown almost as soft as silk hair bounced in tight ring curls as she walked away. Her tiny figure swayed as she turned the corner disappearing from my sight.

Groaning, I dashed into the bathroom and did what I had to do. When I was done I looked at myself in the mirror and sighed. I was definitely nothing like my sister. She was four months older then me. (Wolves don't carry children for nine months, our pregnancy's are far shorter.) We were born with in the same year four months apart. My hair was a silver blonde and dead straight. Her eyes where a beautiful green as my eyes are a dull green grey, but from the nights I've been having, tossing and turning, my eyes were so swollen. I looked nothing like my sister, she looked like the perfect combination of our mother and father, but I...I looked nothing like them. Well, except I did have my father's blonde silver hair and grey eye's, well then I shouldn't say I don't look like them, just that I didn't look like my mother.

Sighing, I washed my hands and left the restroom only for Laura to occupy once again. Walking down the hallway of the tan shag carpet, it tickled my toes as I walked. Closing the door to my room I pushed aside some box's to get to my bed and flopped down with a thud. I couldn't believe the week I had just had.

We just moved to North Wood split territory of the Midnight Pack, and Spiritwood Pack. We left our previous pack because our former alpha lost his mate and went on a rampage, killing all mated and unmated males because he wanted the females all to himself. My father sought out the alpha of Spiritwood pack and asked if we could transition to his pack. Being generous as he was and as well as a long term friend of my father's, he agreed in giving us a home to stay and a new pack to call family. Since we were new to the pack, we had to undergo a blood bonding ceremony once we arrived yesterday, officially initiating us into the pack.

Tilting my head I couldn't help but feel like an outsider. I mean we were outsiders but at the same time, everyone has been nothing but nice so far. I just felt lonely still.

There was a soft knock at the door that broke my concentration and train of thought making me turn around sitting up in bed. "Yea?" I called out curious to see who it was.

"Honey can I come in?" A soft voice asked, my mother was never one to yell or talk over or even raise her voice.

"Yea mom." I said laying back on the bed, keeping my eyes on the door.

Opening the door she took a step in slowly, but stayed with in the door way. "I just came to check up on you." She gave me a half smile.

"I'm fine, just you know... here...thinking is all." I shrugged my shoulders laying flat on my back while she looked at me with sad eyes. I hated when she looked at me like that, I knew it was just pity and hurt. She knew the pain I was going through but she didn't want to say anything or talk about it because she herself, was going through the same pain.

Thinking back on it, my heart clenched in my chest. Most of my friends and family had been killed by our former alpha and some of my girlfriends were thrown into cells at the alphas orders, but me and my sister had just made it out in time all because our father. If it weren't for him I'm sure us girls, my mother, sister and I would also be in cells.

"Honey you should try and make new friends....you start class tomorrow." She gave me a half hearted smile trying to make me smile.

Turning my head I looked at her and smiled a little. I hadn't really noticed how she looked till now. Her normal dark and bouncy hair had now faded to a dull grey making her look older then what she really was. Her eyes were sunken in making her look like death. But yet, she had that warm smile on her face like nothing was wrong . She always tried to make things better, she had always been, and always will be I suppose, a sweet person. "I'll just wait till class."

She nodded her head and walked away, I think she picked up on my loner vibes. I didn't feel like making friends, I just wanted to sleep close my eyes and finally sleep with out dreaming.

Rolling over in bed I closed my eyes feeling how heavy they were, it gave me slight hope that tonight would finally be the night I would sleep with out the nightmares. Hoping darkness would come sooner rather then later as it answered my prays, drifting with out a single dream.

Waking up to the sound of Laura whining wasn't what I had in mind. Her horrible nails on a chalk board voice woke me up with a slight head throb. Looking over at my clock it shown 6:50 in the morning...6:50 in the god damn morning and Laura was crying about how she had nothing to wear for school. Suddenly she burst threw my door storming her way in like a hurricane. Bouncing up from bed I stood in a defensive position.

She gave me one quick look, stiffened and turned up her nose like a pricey cat. "Ugh, get up lazy ass and go take a shower."

Rubbing my face I couldn't believe her she was in my room, My Room, how dare she. A snarl left my lips as I watched her walk towards my closet. She paused midstride and turned around slowly facing my direction giving me daggers as she hissed at me. Her green eyes now turning a dark black showing she was on the verge of shifting. I smirked thinking about how this would start and end. We both knew I would win, she was never one for training, but I on the other hand, I was trained. Every chance I got I would train. I growled back louder and took a step forward challenging her, I knew my own eyes were turning black as well. She was use to getting her way, but her barging into my room this early in the morning wasn't going to run over so easily. Her nails enlarged into claws and just as she was about to take the first step, our father's voice boom out at us.

"Girls! It's 7:15 your mother's almost done with breakfast."

And just like that we both stopped our pursuit of each other. Our eyes shifting back to their normal colors as she shook her body. Huffing out an aggressive sigh she turned back to my closet and started to rummage through the cloths I had neatly put away, ignoring me completely as if 10 seconds ago had never mattered.

"What are you doing Laura?" I snapped collecting my cloths she started throwing out of my closet.

"What does it look like I'm doing? Looking for my shit you stole!"

Growling once more I grabbed her shoulder turning her around and shoved her towards my bedroom door. "I don't have your stuff. I'm not like you, I don't take with out asking." I snapped back giving her a firm shove out my door before slamming it behind her, hoping I hit her tail on the way out.

Slowly taking a deep breath through my noes I tried to calm myself. Think happy thought Dallas. Pushing myself off the door I walked to my closet fixing my cloths before giving up and pulling out a pair of dark skinny jeans, a grey tank and a black hoody. With my bundle in hand I opened my door and dashed to the bathroom. It was the first time Laura wasn't inside, and I didn't have to beg her to come out.

Doing my business in peace, I couldn't help but feel something was wrong. One Laura wasn't in the restroom when I went in and two I didn't hear her complain about how I had taken time for my self for once. I had an Oh God moment before I rushed out, running back to my room. When I opened my door I couldn't believe my eyes.

Cloths were thrown all over the place, my closet was completely empty and my favorite black shirt shredded on the ground. Tears threated to spill over as she walked by stopping to look in my room for a brief moment.

"Oh dear," fake concern laced her voice like poison from a rattle snake, while her thick makeup cracked on her skin as her lips turned up into a smirk. "Your room is so messy Dallas," clicking her tongue against her teeth as she wiggled her finger at me. "Messy girl." Her last words before swaying her hips down the hallway and down the short flight of steps.

My blood boiled with rage and hatred, she was at fault for this and I couldn't do anything about it. Something touched my cheek, as I moved my hand up whipping the back of my hand across my face I looked down to see a tear stain on my sweater. I had finally broken from her taunts and cried. She made me cry.

Wiping my face completely I growled out in frustration. It had been childish letting her get to me this morning. I sure as hell wasn't going to let her do this to me at school. Concluding I would clean my room once I got home I grabbed my bookbag from the floor and closed the door.

Sending a little prayer to the Goddess that my day wouldn't be ruined by this morning's events. Or so I hoped.
