CHAPTER 5 PART I

Su Han was about to find a secluded corner when a drunk man appeared in front of her, pumping into her hard.

The drunk man immediately fell onto the ground, his eyes glazed over as if he had yet to understand what just happened.

Su Han's expression grew dark. "Stop acting, hand over the thing you stole."

Her storage space was completely untouched, however she could feel her backpack instantly lighten. Obviously, there was something off with the fellow in front of her.

The drunk man seemed to have not heard her at all and continued acting, going on a drunken craze.

"Need me throw you into the river to get you to clear your head?" Su Han was completely unmoved.

Drunk man: …

Oh, momma! She looks quite soft and refined a lady, why is she so fierce when she speaks?

His eyes finally regained their clarity. Sighing, he asked, "How did you find out?"

"My backpack suddenly grew much lighter. You probably stole my metal beads." Su Han continued indifferently, "I might not discover it if you took something else."

The drunk man was overcome with grief and anger. His darned luck! Taking out an opened pack of metal beads, he handed it over to its owner, "Here."

Su Han caught it. Curious, she questioned the man, "Aren't you afraid of me giving you a beating?"

The drunk man snorted. "Isn't it tiring to beat someone up? We can't even fill our stomachs, so why waste so much energy?" He didn't have anything much to lose anyway, so he wasn't afraid of her.

Su Han weighed the metal beads in her hands for a while before suddenly asking, "A player?" His method of stealing was way too unbelievable, and she suspected that it was an occupational skill.

The drunk man froze. Looking up, he earnestly inquired, "Do you have anything to drink?"

"What do you mean?" Su Han didn't get it.

"If you have something to drink, then I'm a player and can have a chat with you. If there isn't then you can leave." The drunk man lazily said.

Su Han thought, wasn't this just another way of admitting that he was a player? If there wasn't anything to drink then he didn't plan on paying her any attention.

After thinking about it, Su Han took a bottle of milk out and waved it in front of the drunk man, "Answer well and it's yours."

The drunk man's eyes lit up, elated. "I didn't think you were doing so well!" Able to easily hand out milk just like that, she could be seen to be doing fairly well.

"Shut up." Su Han was worried that there were be NPCs following her. She lowered her voice, her tone quick and urgent, "Let's find a better place to talk at. Follow me."

The drunk man revealed an expression that showed his disapproval. However, he was too great need of the milk and couldn't help following Su Han.

Su Han finally had the time to size the drunk man up after taking many twists and turns to shake off the tails behind them. The alcohol he reeked of didn't seem faked, his hair was in a mess, and the man had a very red face and swollen eyes. He looked like he could be better off. "Tell me what you know."

The drunk man reached out a hand and requested, "Payment first."

Su Han tossed the milk over. Immediately after, she took out another one bottle and shrugged, "Answer well and this bottle shall be yours too."

The drunk man's face reddened even further, obviously delighted. He immediately spilled all that he knew, "My name is Wei Min Zhe and my profession is a thief. As long as I touch my target, I have a 30% chance of stealing something."

"Are you worried that our conversation will be heard by the locals? There actually isn't a need for that. I've already tried saying the word 'player' in front of them before and found that the system will automatically filter it. Even if we talk about the contents of the game loudly, when the NPCs hear it they'll only think that we're talking nonsense."

"Also, about my profession's skill. Doesn't stealing by mere contact sound very fantastical? However, when the NPCs get their things stolen they don't find it weird, instead they feel that it's very normal. I feel like the system's probably done something to it before to make it seem reasonable."

I see. Su Han revealed a thoughtful expression. And then, she side-eyed the drunk man, bewildered, "How'd you get so wretched?"

Even if he were to exchange all 100 points into food and daily necessities, it wouldn't cause him to turn into his current state.

"Don't even mention it." Wei Min Zhe complained, "I've been tricked by the system!"

"What do you mean?"

"After looking at the attributes, do you feel that you can live on as long as you hoard enough food and daily necessities?"

"And that since all food can raise our satiety attribute while daily necessities raise our hygiene, it's fine to use any kind?"

-TOFU- yeah I just remembered the word hygiene too lol. It'll be hygiene instead of cleanliness in the future cuz the latter is more for non-living things.

"And, since mineral water is useless in the game, we could just use it to exchange for other resources?"

Wei Min Zhe snorted before continuing with a deadpan expression, "If you have held any of the thoughts above before, then you'll be not far away from being hoodwinked."

Su Han's expression didn't change. "Why do you say that?"

"While it's true that mineral water can only raise our satiety by a small bit, however, as long as we intake less than 500ml of water a day, we'll start showing symptoms of dehydration the next day and constantly be dropping health. I only found out afterwards that we don't necessarily have to intake mineral water and that coke, milk and alcohol can replace it. To be more accurate, it should be water resources that we cannot drink less than 500ml of."

"We can raise our hygiene with towels and toothbrush, but if we don't use either soap or shampoo in 72 hours, we'll display symptoms of 'infection'."

"Similarly, eating chocolates and sweets can raise our satiety, however we have to eat staple foods like rice and other flour made food within 72 hours. I've never tried this one before and don't know what negative state will appeared, though a player I know has fallen to it before."

Wei Min Zhe answered slowly, his tone as if he'd experienced all the vicissitudes of life. After all these were lessons in the blood that he'd experienced the majority of.

Su Han wasn't able to sympathize with him. Instead she suddenly thought of the super value large gift bag.
