Rosalind's eyes were beginning to glaze from watching too many makeup tutorial videos by the time Julian stumbled out of bed. He yawned before turning his attention to his children on the couch.

"Have either of you eaten yet?"

"No. We're working on our plan to give you an alibi," Ed told him without looking up from the screen.

He opened the fridge and pulled out a banana and a container of spreadable cream cheese before toasting himself a bagel. "What is it you're working on exactly? I thought we didn't have a plan."

"We have half of a plan. I woke up early and have been working on it ever since. The problem is that I don't know Isaac and don't know what he would be doing today. We need to strike while he's in transit," Rosalind explained.

Julian frowned. "I don't know what that idiot gets up to these days. I moved out five years ago and only see him in passing at work."

"Well, what sort of things did he do five years ago?"
