Chapter 56

I couldn't help but smile awkwardly as Weiss Schnee met my eyes and I realized it may just be my fate to be thrown into the grasp of white-haired girls.

Actually, the moment I realized that I was going to be bringing my androids here and Weiss had to come to terms with the fact that I was going to be fucking a bustier and nicer version of her appearance... The thought brought a sublime smile to my face so I didn't despair having her as part of my team.

"Hmph well come on then!" She snorted and turned around with her ponytail whipping around as she powerwalked away.

"Hey Weiss... You are heading North-West with an emphasis on the west..." I said dryly and as she turned to me scowling, I simply pointed to the sun which was hanging off to our side and proved we were generally heading in an off direction.

"So, you do know who I am!" She said victoriously before harrumphing at my temerity at seemingly not knowing her.

"Well, you did explode on the front lawn of the school... People talk, and apparently, the fact that the heiress of the leading company for Dust mismanaged said Dust and had it violently explode was pretty notable."

Weiss seemed to twitch, and her face froze as my words hit her, but I continued on. "So yeah, basically the whole campus knows 'you' and knows that you are capable of making bombs with but a single sneeze." I cackled.

"Oh, you brute!" Weiss cried attempting to kick me in the shins, but she wasn't even five feet tall, so I was able to push my hand against her head and make her unable to kick me.

"Alright, Snowball let's get going. We don't wanna attract a bunch of Grimm with our antics." I said stepping away from Weiss and moving ahead.

"Hmph... I will have vengeance for this insult, just wait Jake." Weiss said haughtily as she walked beside me.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at what. Was she Eula from Genshin?

If she pulls some nonsense, I will literally put hair dye in her shampoo... Let's see her try getting black dye out of her white hair.

But that is the nuclear option of reprisal.

I and Weiss made our way towards the northern part of the forest and thankfully with us being silent and focusing on dealing with the Grimm that occasionally wandered into our path, we missed the massive Nevermore who dive-bombed a nearby trio, and I could only faintly see what looked to be a couple red, white and tannish colors before the Nevermore screamed as it took off with its new passengers.

"And this is why you are relatively silent in the Grimm-infested forest..." I mused aloud with Weiss nodding solemnly.

"Think they will be, ok?" She asked quietly as we finished a couple of lesser Ursa that wandered over to see what the Nevermore was doing.

"So long as the Nevermore doesn't smash them onto the ground with all its body weight. They should be fine honestly." Huntsmen were durable and being thrown off a cliff wouldn't be that different from being launched by a bird from a similar great height so they can land fairly easily so long as there are some things, they can use to bleed off their momentum.

Weiss seemed to take my words well and focused on not tripping on the tree roots as she was walking around in high-heeled shoes.

Finally, after another five minutes of jogging, we broke through the tree cover, and we arrived at a large batch of ruins. "The relic should be here," I spoke looking around and seeing no Grimm we both walked forward to the central monument and saw a large stone pedestal with a number of chess pieces.

I did notice that the Queen pieces were already missing but the Rook and Knight pieces were still there. "What relic should we take?" I said offering the choice to Weiss.

"Hmm, I believe the Rook would suffice." She said after a moment of thought, so I took said Rook and put it in my pocket as Weiss didn't even have pockets in her damned dress.

"Should we wait for others?" I asked as I looked around and saw the large Nevermore flying in this direction from across the forest and I knew whoever was atop the bird would be landing here if they were able to see the ruins off the bird.

"Hmm no, I think we should endeavor to return back to Beacon as soon as possible that way we can get settled and the sooner we return, the better our grades likely would be," Weiss said confidently but cried out in shock as a large Boarbatusk broke through the forest cover with Ren and Nora both riding upon the poor Grimm.

"People Ho!" Nora cried out and then with a cry she smashed her Warhammer into the head of the Boarbatusk making it tilt forward as it was running eating dirt and throwing Nora and Ren off its back as it exploded into ashes,

"Hey, Jake! You already got a relic?" She asked excitedly and I merely nodded before I could verbally respond she spun around me and dashed towards the platform where the other relics were leaving Ren to sigh and jog over to his overly energetic partner.

Even as I heard Nora crying out about her taking the horsie piece I was paying attention to the large Nevermore that was flying high above us.

"They are falling..." I said dryly as the trio of blurs fell several hundred above us straight down and I sighed as I walked over to where I thought the trio that were holding each other together in the air were going to land.

I threw my hands up and a large pillar of water grew out of the water and collided with the trio, but they were going at an angle, so they fell out of my water pillar but still lost a lot of their momentum from falling through a few meters of water.

"Oh, Jeanne you are still alive!" I said joyously seeing the soaking-wet girl collapse to the ground and began giggling hysterically about how she was still alive.

"Thanks for breaking our fall," Pyrrha said gratefully as she helped haul Jeanne back to her feet.

"Go get your relics quick... that Nevermore is looping back," I said with Jeanne and Pyrrha running off to do so.

"Uhhh you alright?" I asked the last of the trio.

Ruby Rose was standing there awkwardly shivering lightly from being drenched but I could see how she was plainly freaking out at the moment.

"I don't suppose you have a partner yet?" She asked bashfully looking at me with hope but just as she said that Weiss came up from behind me and cut her off.

"I am his partner!" Weiss said defensively as she stood slightly in front of me seemingly to mark her territory with her arms crossed over her chest.

Before the confrontation could go any further another duo broke through the tree line as Yang Xiao-Long and Blake Belladonna ran over to the monument. "Don't take the last relic, Ruby!" Yang cried out excitedly seeing her sister was alright over here, but I could see her frown as Ruby looked heavily distraught.

I saw Yang say something to Blake who took off towards the monument as Yang continued to jog over to us. "Heya Rubes you alright?" Yang asked throwing her long blond hair behind her as she was recovering from her journey here.

"Yang... I didn't run into anyone. I don't even have a partner, so I won't be able to join Beacon with you." Ruby said quietly, and honestly, she looked to be on the verge of tears as she said she wouldn't be able to join Yang in Beacon.

I literally used a random number generator with the canon caste being assigned a certain number and whatever number he landed on would be his parter... Literally hit Weiss's number six out of ten times so I had no choice.
