"About time you got here..." May said as she closed the book, the portal closed.
If looks could kill, I'd be dead by now.
She looked at me with a raised eyebrow, "What took you so-" she then spotted Hela. May looked back at me, then back at Hela and instantly started to form connections.
I sighed.
"It's not what it look's like."
She grinned, "Oh I'm sure~ " She looked at Hela up and down, completely ignoring the scowl on her face, "Absoulutly perfect for my baby~ what's your name dear?"
Hela simply glared at my mother and remained silent.
"Her name is Hela." I said
"Ah," May smiled, "Well, that certainly is a..unique name, not many parents would name her after the Goddess of Death from Norse mythology."
"She is the Goddess of Death from Norse Mythology."
"Funny." She laughed, "but when she saw that I wasn't amused in the slightest, "nor was Hela's glare turned Irritated, she began to realize that I was not joking, she paled.
"Um.. A word if you will dear..." She sent a nervous look at Hela, "Excuse me..."
May pulled me aside. "Have you lost your mind!"
I tilted my head, "What?"
"If that's truly the Goddess of Death! What is she doing out of her seal, and why did you bring her here!"
"I'm surprised you believe me so quickly." I said bluntly, "I thought you would mock me because I'm denial or something."
"Child I found you inside an alien spaceship." May deadpanned, " I can do this..."
She opened her hands in the air and sparks of orange magic appeared into the existence for a split second, before fading, catching Hela's attention she stared at May with a weird expression on her face.
"Hell our own teacher of the mystic arts is over 500 years old. At first I thought you wore joking, but when I saw the serious expression on your face, I knew you weren't!"
"Point-taken." I sighed, scratching the back of my head, "as for why I wanted her here, "well...I wanted to give her a second chance, she wasn't exactly given a fair trial when she was sealed for a couple thousand years."
"Dear, you know what she has done." May said worriedly, "You know what could happen if-"
"You know.." I interrupted her, "from what I've heard, the only reason why Hela was the way she is, was because her father raised her like that." I gave a brief glance to Hela before looking back at my mother. "She was raised to be Odin's tool for conquest, but he suddenly decided that he wanted to be good and expected his daughter to do the same."
May sighed, "I understand where your coming from, son, but at the end of the day, she still is the way she is, she could turn on us and kill us with ease with the power that she has," Her eyes flickered nervously to Hela before going back to me. "Change takes time, son, she could kill us at any given moment."
"That's why I restricted her powers." I replied, making May look up with a raised eyebrow, "that explains everything."
I shrugged, "Anyway, what was this emergency you wanted me to talk to you about?"
May sighed tiredly, "It's about Peter."
