[Ch.94] The Songbird Loses her Wings

Ryu spoke in a weak voice, "Mother.."

Her head snapped up, "I told you to stop calling me that."

He lowered his head, "Tsubaki…"

"What."

"When is Mama Nyo coming back?"

She glared at him and spat out, "How would I know?! I can't leave this crappy place because of YOU! If I turn my back for even a moment, your illusions get out of hand and then I have to deal with everyone's complaints!"

He flinched, "I-I can't control it… Maybe if you can teach me-"

"Pah! Teach you? I had to figure it out by myself as a child so you should too!"

His lip trembled, "But it's hard…"

She mocked him in annoyance, "Oh, you poor baby. Well if it's hard then don't do it."

Ryu looked away from her to hide his own disappointment.
