Weak Little Vampire pt. 2

Cameron was worried, to say the least. Feeling on the verge of a panic attack himself, he scoops up Terra and swiftly but gently carries her to her room. Without even a second to enjoy the sweet kiss she surprised him with, he pulls is phone out of his pocket, he dials the one person he knows can help.

It rings 5 times before Cameron hears a click on the other end. "What do you want?"

Cameron sighs in relief. He didn't think Lawrence would answer. "Buddy, I need your help. Badly."

Lawrence lets out a long, deep sigh. "What did you do?"

"I didn't do anything! I've been blooding her regularly, but all of the sudden, she got dizzy and passed out on me. Right after being fed too."

There's a pause on the other end. When Lawrence responds, he sounds bone tired. "I'll be over as soon as I can" Then he hangs up the phone.

Staring at the screen for a moment, Cam can't help but think that Lawrence might actually care. Usually he doesn't help in the slightest, he just can't be bothered. If he actually coming over, it means this is serious.

Cam sits on the edge of the bed and looks down at Terra. If he didn't know better, he'd think she was just sleeping. But he could tell by the look in her eyes just before the feinted that this was bad. She looked so pained and confused. It made him want to think that the kiss didn't mean anything, that it was just the product of her fried brain. But the way she ran her lips over his, and the way she lingered let him know that she meant it. If only they could repeat it when she's better, he's sure it would go much differently.

'Now isn't the time to be thinking about this!' He thought to himself. Terra was sick, and he couldn't figure out why. He'd done everything right. Maybe it's because he wasn't her actual master? There wasn't a way for him to tell until Lawrence got there. Cameron stood up and paced around the room. Sitting still would drive him nuts.

His sweet little vampire. What was he going to do with her? She was is ideal woman, yet he couldn't have her. Lets face it, she was just too fragile to take. She might even break if he tried. He was also worried about her rebirth. What was he going to do about her Master? The investigation should start today. Cameron gave the higher ups as much information as he could. He hoped they would find him, for Terra's sake. But what would it mean if they did? Would she be taken away from his care? Left in the hands of a Vampire that didn't want her? This situation was too complicated.

Cam walked back towards the bed. He pushed a piece of hair away from her face. It was soft. He looked at her sweet, full lips. Before he could think better of it, he leaned down and gave them a gentle kiss. He hoped he'd get the opportunity to do so again when she woke up.

Lawrence chose that moment to ring the doorbell. Nearly jumping out of his skin, Cameron cursed. That was faster than expected and it startled him. He rushed to the front door as fast as he could. When he opened it to let Lawrence in, he was slightly winded.

"What's up with you?" Lawrence asked, as tactless as possible.

"In a hurry, duh. Come on, her room is this way." Cameron led him to her room. When Lawrence walked in, he immediately began examining her. Lawrence was one of the first people in the world to study vampire biology. He had written two books on it, and was a renowned expert. He would have been a doctor, but he didn't feel like putting in the effort to do so. He was too much of a smart ass anyway. Most people don't like him to say the least.

Lawrence opened Terra's eyelids, her mouth, took her pulse, checked her breathing, everything. With a sigh, he stood up and looked at Cameron. "How often are you blooding her?"

That's all he had to say? "I try to feed her every four hours. Why? Is that really the problem?"

Ignoring his question, Lawrence asks "How often are you feeding her real food? How much water does she drink? Is she on any medication? Are there any symptoms I should know about?"

Cameron couldn't help but think that Lawrence was taking this very seriously. So instead of picking on him, he answered the questions. " She's only eaten once since she's been here, she drinks a bottle of water ever few hours, all her medication is in the drawer there, and she said her back and hips hurt."

Lawrence opens the drawer and inspects the medication, then stops to think. After a few minutes tick by, he finally says "blood her every 2 hours, without fail. Make sure she gets 3 meals a day. More water. And she was hit by a car, right?" Cameron nods. "I'll prescribe some pain meds then."

Cameron is confused. Was that's all that was wrong? He wouldn't look so serious if it were. " Tell me what's wrong with her. Now."

Lawrence signs. "You're a pain. Since you're not her Master, her transformation is slower than usual. She's barely a vampire. The lack of enough blood was making her sick. She's in pain because her body hadn't been fully regenerated. Yeah, most of the damage is gone, but there's going to be something wrong internally now. Just make sure she doesn't stress it and it'll be fine. Can I go back home now, you ass?"

Cameron sighs in relief and puts his head in his hands. She'll be okay. All he had to do was blood her more and take care of her. That was easy. Yeah, he'd have to get more blood packs for himself, but so what? She wasn't dying.

He nods his head and says "Yeah, thank you buddy. It's a big relief."

"Good" Lawrence says. "Before I go, do you care to explain why you smell of her? I told you not to get too involved!"

Oh crap, he was found out. Cameron knew this would happen but hoped he'd have more time. With some hesitation, he explains the story. By the time he's done, Lawrence looks ready to hit him.

"You. Moron! To start, you shouldn't have let her! Secondly, You shouldn't have let her keep doing it! Thirdly, you should have told her what it means! Do you know what can happen to you if you mistreat a female?! You're lucky she isn't fully turned yet, otherwise the smell would be so strong, no one can deny it! You need to either tell her and make her take responsibility, or tell her and break the bond! If you don't, no more favors!"

Holy cow. Cameron was shocked. Not by what Lawrence said, he already knew all that. He was shocked by how much he had spoken. Lawrence was notorious for only speaking a few words.

Cameron looked at his long time friend. "I know. I was going to tell her, but then this happened. When she waked up, I'll tell her."

"Good." With that and a nod, Lawrence walked out the door.
