Lia woke up in the morning, only to find that she was alone in her bed. She sat up, rubbing her eyes to get used to the brightness in her room. Once she was fully awake, she looked around...

There was no sign of Chase in the bedroom, though the mess on the other side of the bed was visible.

She brought her hands down to caress the surface where the man had left behind, with the images of her being embraced in Chase's arms floating into her mind. Again, she was back in the man's arms, sleeping very comfortably next to the one she loves.

Just like they used to be seven years ago, before their happiness was taken.

The familiar warmth, the familiar hug, the familiar touch, the familiar breathing... the familiar scent. Everything about Chase has remained unchanged over the years.
