He patted the shoulders of Alex who snarled back in response, and Merlin took a step back.

Alex's wolf whined as he walked towards his mate and stroked her skin that had turned white. 

It pained him so much.

"Hey, I did not want to interrupt but what is happening here?" Charlotte who had some idea about the matter came forward as she felt a foreboding feeling in her heart. 

"Ah, that.. Can you look at the girl?" Merlin pointed at the girl who was lying on the bed and Alex was nudging her softly hoping that she would open her eyes and smile at him.

"She is the mate of Alex. She had been given poison from the enchanted forest. She will die if she is not given an antidote and every moment is precious for her.
