“Sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.”
“It’s fine.”
“No, it’s not. I shouldn’t be lashing out on you,” David said.
“It’s okay.”
“It fucking isn’t,” David retorted, a little harsher than he meant to. He blushed and inhaled deeply before releasing his breath through his mouth. “Sorry. Again.”
Tobias snickered. “Apology accepted.”
“Thank you.”
The two of them didn’t exchange a single word for a minute or so.
“I love you very much.”
David’s heart beat harder and faster. His long-time crush reciprocated his feelings. He should be ecstatic, and he was. However, he was also terrified at the same time. “I—”
“You don’t have to say anything, babe,” Tobias cut off him while hugging him tighter. “I just need you to know how I feel.”
“I love you, too. I think I’ve been in love with you for a very long time.”
“Is that why you hated me when I slept around with those other men and women?”
David felt the heat of embarrassment creeping up his neck and cheeks. “Maybe.”
