"Oh, so she is into girls," Leah said teasingly.
"She is lying. I am straight. I don't like girls." Selena said it venomously while glaring at me.
"We won't judge," Leah said teasingly.
"Mom, stop."
"Okay."
"Good morning, everyone. Let me introduce Duke White and his two daughters. Chief White, I heard you two met a while back, and behind her is General Nyx White." Leah said, gesturing at them one by one.
"Good to meet you all and see you again, Chief White. I am Ren Diamonas," I said, holding my hand out to the duke.
"Nice to meet you, Ren. They sure are dragon scales, just like you said, Artemis." The duke said this, looking at Artemis.
"Of course, Dad, I did meet her a few times to make sure," Artemis said, making me raise an eyebrow at her, annoyed.
"Ah, I told you she was looking for us those times," Sara said, pointing at Selena in victory. Something Selena didn't even react to. I just ignored her.
"Well, with the introductions over, let's go somewhere to talk. Preferably inside." Leah said, clapping her hands.
"You just want to see the inside. Before we go, please move your pegasus out of my garden." I asked politely, or as much as I could. Seeing Nyx narrow her eyes at me, I stared at her.
'Yes, total, babe. Selena might come out of the closet if Nyx gives her a small chance.' I thought, looking at her silver eyes with dragon-slit irises.
"How was that a garden? There were no plants." Nyx said, talking for the first time. Hearing her voice, my eyes shot in surprise at her heavenly-sounding voice.
"Selena, you better climb out of the closet," I said. Spinning around, I looked at Selena.
"The hell are you talking about?" Selena yelled, staring daggers at me, trying to hide her blush behind her anger.
"Ren, please calm down," Leah said, grabbing my shoulder and making me look at her.
"How can I? Didn't you hear her voice?" I said, sharing with Leah, baffled.
"Is something wrong with my voice?" Nyx said, glaring at me.
"There is nothing wrong with your voice, dear. It's just that she finds it attractive." Leah explained, making Nyx look away in embarrassment. Surprising a few of us.
"I will move the pegasus," Nyx said, turning around and walking away.
"Alright, while she does that, let's go inside," Leah said, letting go of my shoulder.
"I will move us to the second-floor living room," I said, not waiting for any confirmation. I teleported everyone to the living room.
"What the hell?" The duke said this, looking around.
"Gulp, Ren, I am going to hit you in your sleep," Selena said, glaring at me.
"Yeah, yeah, good luck with that," I said, waving her off and sitting on one of the couches with Sara and Selena joining me. Uwe, Leah, and Lina took one of the couches to the side while the Duke and Chief White took the couch across from me.
"So, you can teleport people around. You really are half-human." The duke said, looking me up and down.
"Yes, she is a half demon and half human, even before I did what I did to her," Leah said before I could answer him.
"Hmm, let's get straight to the point, Leah. Why did you not tell us you had ancient dragon blood? Black dragon blood at that." Duke White said, glaring at Leah.
"You would have taken it if I had told you. I even got it before I met Uwe." Leah explained, making Uwe nod in agreement.
"That was long ago. Then why did you give it to her?" The duke said this, pointing at me.
"Andreas, that is something you do not need to know," Lea said, shaking her head.
"I think I have the right to know how and why the hell you made an artificial half-dragon." The duke said it in an ordering tone, making us annoyed. Having someone order his queen around wasn't right.
"Not even I know how that happened, and I don't need to give you a reason," Leah said, not baking off.
"So, Leah, you made something that should not be able to happen."
'Man, this guy thinks I am not even something?' I thought, hearing how he was talking about me.
"Andreas, why are you talking as if she is an abomination?"
"Because she is. Half human, half demon—I don't care—but she isn't a true dragon. She suddenly has dragon blood. That's not how a dragon must come into this world. What do you think if something like this is known to the world?" The duke said this, pointing at me again, making me even more annoyed.
'Old fashion much?' I thought, scoffing to the side.
"Well, no one will know. It's not like there are no other demons with dragon-like scales." Leah countered, glaring at him.
"They are black. No lizard has black scales or snakes. Black scales are just not a thing, Leah!
"So, there are no records about what happens if any of them have a kid with a human. No one will think, oh, she might be a dragon, all of a sudden. Black dragons have been extinct for thousands of years. Barely anyone knows they existed at some point." Leah said, calming down and realising she might be falling for his trap somehow.
"That doesn't make the cut, Leah. Someone will figure it out then. What are you going to do, huh?" The duke was a bit annoyed.
"Fine, so what? Someone will find out what you think we should do. Huh, it's not like we are the strongest family in the world." Leah said, this time scoffing at his glare.
"Why not just get rid of it then?" The moment the duke said that, the air in the room became very still and heavy.
"What did you just say, father?" The first one to talk was, surprisingly, Chief White.
"What did I say something wrong? If we get rid of it, we don't need to worry if the problem doesn't exist." The duke said this, making my hand twitch.
"It? You have been talking like I am not even a being. Fuck, I actually thought you would be decent, seeing as you have been working with the travelling system between the demon and human worlds, but you are one old grumpy fuck that does not want change."
"That is a mouth full," Sara said, snickering next to me.
"You young ladies don't even know how to hold a weapon properly, and you dare talk back to me?"
"I don't know how to hold a weapon properly. Do you want to test these?" I said, standing up and summoning my three soul weapons.
"Hmph, I do not want to waste my time on a child." The duke said, scoffing.
"Dad, I'm warning you right now; don't underestimate her." Chief White said it softly.
"Again, with you coming up with something for someone that doesn't deserve it, these younglings don't follow the order of business." The duke said, glaring at his daughter before back at me.
"Duke White, watch what you are saying; I am still present here," Uwe said, warning him.
"Demon King, you should have known how I would react to hearing this news."
"Sigh, yes, I knew, but I would hope you have changed your mindset a bit, seeing you working so well with the humans," Uwe said, sighing at the duke's attitude.
"Humans have order and punishes the ones that disrupt that order. You, on the other hand, just give a warning and never punish."
"Andreas White, this is your last warning. Don't push your luck. I have let you meet her on short notice, but seeing you act like this, I think my choice was wrong."
"She shouldn't exist, and you know that, Demon King. The last time your wife made something like this, it killed 300 demons."
"Sigh, that was to a child who was unstable to begin with. Ren is already 18, and she comes from a battlefield. Something as bloody as blood transformation won't change her mindset." Uwe said, making me raise an eyebrow at him before thinking about all my changes again.
'… something like this happened before?' I thought, not surprised but interested in what happened before.
"That doesn't change anything."
"Why is this old fool spouting dumb excuses? How long ago did that happen? Huh?" I said, looking at the duke like he was an old coot moaning about something dumb.
"65 years ago," Leah answered.
"65 years is shitlong. Do you think Leah is the same dumb young woman she was back then? I bet you were just some young guys drinking and flirting with your wife back then." I said, pointing at Leah.
"Ugh, as if you knew how we were back then," Leah said. Although she didn't show it, she was quite annoyed at how I wore it.
"Hahaha, she got you there," Uwe said, laughing at his facial expression.
"Cough, cough, fine, we won't get rid of you, but we need to make sure no one finds out what she is. If the news gets out that it's possible to make an artificial black dragon, we might have an apocalypse on our hands."
'Did I just get some of his respect?' I thought, raising an eyebrow at him, very confused.
"Why would we have an apocalypse if there were more black dragons?" Sara asked innocently.
Hearing what she said, I also got a bit curious about the prospect.
