I never played a game seriously before, I have never thought of it seriously itself, then why I am going to play it seriously.

If only I did play it seriously... My fate will not be like this.

My name is Adam Crystal, I am someone who never played the game seriously, I just played it for fun.

But.

Isn't it true that everyone should only play games for fun?

Where did it all go wrong, exactly?

Now all I can do is watch helplessly...as my sister is slaughtered right in front of my eyes.

I have to defend her as her brother, but...where did things go wrong?

"Ahh....."

I don't want my life to end like this... If only I hadn't played this game just for the sake of having fun... 

Sister, if only I had taken this game more seriously, things may have turned out differently.

My greatest ambition after both of my parents died in a fire was to look after my younger sister and see her grow into a successful adult.

I studied hard for it and received excellent grades, but why... Why did the world's rules suddenly change...I hate it! 

However, in the end.

I believe it was my fault for casually playing a game.

"Hup.. [Slash]... Die"

Even if I am going to die, I will fight back...

"How dare a mere LvL 70 player to dare to mess with me!?"

And then I will gladly accept my death.

'What's going on...' Wasn't I was killed by those 200 LvL ?' Adam thought as he slowly got up form the bed.

'Where this is?' Isn't this my apartment in Las vegas?'

He dashed to the restroom and examined himself more closely.

He was startled when he heard a voice...

"Brother! Why are you late? Didn't you tell me to get up early so you could go shopping? "It was his sister's voice that he heard.

His heartbeat maxed out his full body was trembling while he stared at the phone which showed the date.

Today was the official debut of the FIVR game [Horizon], which drew a lot of attention due to the fact that it was built in conjunction with two gaming titans.

[Epic works] was a virtual reality game development firm based in America, while [Imagine] was another virtual reality game development company situated in China.

[Horizon] also was built up with new gaming A.I

It was called [Gia] it was purposely created for [Horizon] only.

Starting from today accurately after 90 days FIVR game [Horizon] will descend upon earth.

Everything will change in one night, around 83 percent of mankind will vanish, creatures from other realms will rampage through the entire planet, and humans will be reduced to ants in front of these frightening monsters.

That's when all the humans who didn't vanish received their accounts from [Horizon], and they had to fight those monsters to level up, exactly like in the game, but the only difference was that they couldn't be revived if they died.

The dilemma is that only higher level players can slay these alien monsters; humans who are merely playing it as a life simulator or casual RPG can only wait for their death.

Within a week of its introduction, [Horizon] drew a large number of individuals; by the end of three months, roughly 4.7 billion people out of a total population of 7.6 billion had registered as [Horizon] players.

Adam remembered much of what happened in [Horizon] before it descended, so he took out his phone and jotted down everything that had transpired in his previous life before [Horizon] descended.

This is something he can't afford to overlook.

Adam entered the Gaming store with his sister. The cashier, who was a college girl working part-time here smiled warmly and asked.

"What do you need sir?"

"I would like to purchase two [Horizon] FIVR helmets"

Unlike other FIVR games for [Horizon], you have to purchase the particular helmet made for it.

"Excellent, sir. Basic-grade is $200 sir, do you want me to explain other models"

"No need" He already knew all the models and packages ages ago. "I want two Gold-grade helmets with a platinum package"

With a gold grade helmet, he can play 16hr/per day and with a platinum package, the player will be offered with 30HP potions, 30MP potions, and a hidden draw.

"That would be $2500, Sir,"

Seeing his brother giving money without hesitation Jane was stunned it was his hard-earned money by doing a part-time job for two months.

'What happened to him' she pondered as she headed back to the apartment with his brother.

When Adam entered his bedroom, he didn't immediately tear opened the box and jump into the game. After all, it was launching in roughly 4 hours.

Instead, he stripped until he was in his boxers and began a simple strength exercise. Though, he did a light exercise from the time he went to high school and learned MMA for self-defence after his parent's death.

It was simply for the sake of maintaining his physique; regardless of whether you choose a mage or non-combat classes in [Horizon], if you know martial arts or fighting skills in real life, you can utilize them in [Horizon].

This was one of the most appealing features that drove individuals to become addicted to the game; by three months, most people had almost moved into the [Horizon].

As a result, when the [Horizon] descended on Earth, many of them were overjoyed and believed they could easily defeat those creatures.

But.

They had forgotten one thing that is not the game now, it was the reality they will not be revived after DEATH.

Wiping his sweat he took a shower and ate some light meals there was still 17 min left for the launch of [Horizon].

He helped his sister to set up the FIVR helmet.

"Jane, choose Aconia as your kingdom."

"How come, brother?"

"In order for us to be able to play on the same continent."

"I don't want to!" jane exclaimed, her face pouted.

"Then you must read the instruction manual before-"

"Fine! Fine! Don't bring those vexing items "His sister couldn't assist him, he couldn't help himself, she has always been pampered by him.

Nodding to his sister, he returned to his room and then turned on the FIVR helmet.
