This particular chapter I made in an attempt to introduce my characters to the readers. Please, everyone, enjoy yourselves with this mini-theater.
First week. Monday morning.
Their first lecture is Professor Ghulam's class. Who is Professor Ghulam, you ask? He is their English Lecturer, a European man that migrated from France. His wife is a Malaysian woman.
Professor Ghulam's actual name is Ghulam Stravosky. He is a fifty-three years old handsome man. He is the tallest male in the college, standing on imposing height of six feet and eight inches.
With a fit body and impressive muscles underneath his tight black shirt, he gave out the vibe of someone you cannot trifle on. He had lengthy tousled blond hair. Professor Ghulam also had a pair of piercing sapphire eyes, chiseled jaws, and a straight nose. He is the epitome of a handsome older man with a charming personality.
Despite his inexpressive face, he is a man that loves to crack a joke or two while giving his lecture. He dislikes talking for two hours straight, wasting his breath on the sleeping students. So, to grab his students' attention, he will divide them into a small group of four, consisting of two balance pairs of male and female students.
He will give them a question and require them to discuss the answer among themselves. He will ask them to give out a depth explanation at the end of their group discussion. A satisfactory answer will get a reward. However, the awful one will have a mark deduction.
This action needs to be done by him because it helps students to keep on their toes.
Those students who are like to play around will be penalized. Please beware of your behavior during his class. Of course, you don't want red marks on your result slip at the end of the semester.
Izzat will, of course, stick with his best friend no matter where Fakhrul goes. He prefers to die than spend his time with strangers, alone. They are in the same group with two female students. The first one is Nur Maisarah. And the other one is Thalia Rauniyar.
Maisarah is a beautiful girl with a quiet personality. She has a bunch of secret admirers among the male students.
Maisarah had a pair of mesmerizing scarlet eyes, like a translucent ruby stone. Pale and white skin, with a small button nose and thick, dark eyelashes that flutter lazily like the wings of a butterfly. She also had a beauty mark just below her moist cherry lips.
At this time, she wears a pink floral shawl, matched with her plain, white of loosely fitting, full-length dress with a long skirt of the same color. Her pair of shiny, ankle-strapped black heels pumps are immaculate her graceful appearance even more. She is giving you the impression of a noble lady from the past.
Thalia Rauniyar is the total opposite of Maisarah. She certainly is not a talkative girl. However, her personality is wild and fierce, hidden deeply behind her timidity.
Thalia's skin is a bit tanned, high cheekbones with round, doe black eyes that sparkle every time Izzat opens his mouth. Her black, wavy long hair reached her curvy hips, tied in a high ponytail. She unconsciously loves to bite her own full, luscious lips when the girl feels nervous.
Thalia is wearing a dark blue blouse that tightly hugs her body. The jeans she put on accentuated her gorgeous figure. The eyes of the male students lingered around those parts of her body every time Thalia passed by. With the addition of her plain, white heels, she had the bearing of a confident, mature office lady.
Izzat is experiencing a mild headache right now.
Thalia, since the beginning, has been staring at his face unblinkingly. She is making it too obvious with her attempt to ogle Izzat. Izzat felt uncomfortable, yet, he didn't have the gut to ask Thalia's favor, for her to stop her shameless leering. Izzat could only lament this in his heart.
---------
Maisarah's POV.
Maisarah tried very hard to sustain her smile. Her eyes are flicker between Izzat Haikal and Fakhrul Razi.
She finally met her friends again after ten years! And yet, she is a bit disappointed with their dull and unresponsive reaction. They didn't seem to recognize her at all. Did they already forget about her?
As expected of Izzat, he never changed at all. He still had his aloof and indifferent personality inside him.
Izzat's handsome feature is more visible now than his younger self. His messy, black hair is well-prepped. With his beautiful emerald orbs, smooth, pale skin, and sharp jawline, his appearance alone could charm any girls out there to fall in love with him. He rarely smiles. That is Izzat's signature.
However, when he's smiles, dimples form on both of his cheeks, adding a stunning effect on his handsome face. Izzat has the average height of most boys his age. He is 178 cm, which is five cm shorter than Fakhrul. His body is also lean, with a pair of long, slender legs. If you wished to rank him in terms of looks only, claiming the top three spot was an easy feat.
Fakhrul Razi is a cheerful and happy-go-lucky boy. This personality is what attracts Maisarah in befriending him in the first place. On top of that, his appearance is pleasing to the eyes. With his short, black hair that tousled to the side, and his black, obsidian eyes are gleaming with joy when he is laughing. Fakhrul's sharp features are a disparity of his carefree and jolly nature.
Luckily, he hasn't been affected by Izzat's passive temperament despite being a friend with him for a long time. From his fit stature, you can conclude that Fakhrul always exercised at every chance he gets and is very much in love with sports. Fakhrul is also a master in martial arts. Maisarah had seen with her own two eyes how the man fought with some delinquent before. Ten people are not enough to drag him down. An ordinary person couldn't even reach the sole of his feet.
Maisarah is contemplating this one question in her mind. Why didn't these blockheads recognize her? In her opinion, she hasn't changed that much either. So, why?
---------
Fakhrul's POV.
This girl seemed familiar. Where did I meet her before? Also, this Thalia girl, why is she staring at Iz with those sparkling eyes and worshiping gazes? Is she crazy? Iz hated it when someone was staring at him like this. Should I reprimand her?
Hmm.
Fakhrul supported his chin with his palm, pondering in silence on whether to help his friend or not.
Izzat became even more restless, and that was his cue.
On second thought, I think it's better to let Izzat suffer this ordeal for a while. Serve him right. Fakhrul smirked.
Just like that, the familiarity and nostalgic feeling that he sensed from Maisarah dissipates instantly.
----------
"You guys, shouldn't you start your group discussion right now?" The soft taps on the table are snapping them back from their deep thinking. Professor Ghulam stands beside their table, eyebrows furrowed. He crossed his muscular arms over his sturdy chest. The older man is eyeing them in distaste. "You have thirty minutes only."
The four of them were startled on their seats and scampered onto their books. They started to read and tried to understand the question stated in the paragraph.
Professor Ghulam exhaled an exasperated sigh before approaching the other table.
-The end!-
[I will introduce the other characters later. That's all for today. Have a good day, everyone.]
