Memories of the past

Even when I was frustrated and actually had all the perfectly valid reasons to be angry, I felt defeated by Fang's words. Bane had clearly mentioned it to me late at night yesterday. There was so much I wanted to ask Fang about why he was like this because he looked like he developed a rather cruel coping mechanism for his trauma.

With a sigh, I stepped forward, back into the quicksand, "alright, here grab my hand."

Fang had his brows twisted in anger, "move back! You think I can't get out of quicksand?" He was angry. The kind of anger which came from deep-rooted helplessness. A frustration, to be specific. Before I was sucked back into the mud, I moved back. Fang expertly started pulling himself out. He leaned forward and started pulling his body up horizontally on the surface of the mud instead of vertically. A common strategy on thin ice. In no time, he was out and walked to me.
