Chapter 29: End of Gluttony

~Tatsumi POV~

After seeing the torture of Regulus, the 52 wives already left the place where they were at.

Luckily for me that the majority of them were already adapt to fighting and using magic when they were captured by him in the past.

However, I did ask them to help spread the word to support Emilia Camp the elf in her fight for the throne.

Of course, they were hesitating about it at first however, the one with brains already agreed to return the favor since I did save them from the Sin Archbishop of Greed from a timely demise.

After her speaking up the rest started to at least agree that much was I can get for them to try although I did say to them to keep my identity a secret.

As soon as they agreed I let them take most of the coins that Regulus had in his possession and to my surprise that guy lives off to his reputation as being Greed alright.

The ladies took some of the coins which I might add is all HOLY COINS?!!

Like what the hell?

I had to make sure if that guy was actually human and not a dragon because it was that money worthy of piles.

When I saw this much investment of holy coins, I managed to get his [Gospel] to understand what his purpose in the organization was.

As I read the [Gospel] I understood that his purpose in the group was to bring ruin to the economy by holding in all the usage of Holy Coins and Gold Coins in his work as well as work as the treasury for their organization.

But not only that he was also in charge of raiding important items of the likes of Meteors a tool that allows people whose gate isn't working properly to use magic.

It is known as a magic generator that does not require the user's mana or training and everyone can use Meteors there are many sorts of Meteors, while most of them are created by the most skilled craftsman in the world.

From reading his [Gospel] it seems to me that he has been working with Sloth on this one to either convert the work smith and creators to join the Witch Cultist Radical Faction or B they die.

That would explain that these guys are paid for their work and the supplies needed for them to launch their plans.

I guess Pandora is going to be pissed when all their funding is going to be gone making me the official rich person in this world…

Not going to lie I like this feeling but since the 52 ladies took a large majority of it I see that they didn't make much of a dent in the piles of them.

Still, I wonder what I should do with this much gold anyway to make a business possibly?

Shaking my head, I was brought back to reality as Beatrice looks at me with an odd look as she asks me in a curious voice, "Say Tatsumi since you have defeated Greed quickly are you going straight for Gluttony right away I suppose?"

Glancing back at Beatrice I reply to her with a shrug, "I guess at this point yes since I defeated Greed this soon might as well as beat down Gluttony and be done with it plus with the Authority of Greed that Great White Whale."

As I say that out loud, I look over to Beatrice as I ask her to leave since that Whale is a problem to spirits since its [Mist of Contamination] and [Mist of Elimination].

It could also break the spirits of those unprepared with its roar and when faced with heavy attacks it would spawn clones that would split the original Hakugei's power and weight while the original tries to escape or use the clones as a safer way to defeat its opponents.

I don't doubt Beatrice's power far from it I actually believe she is still stronger than me in the magic department.

However, this beast is a bad counter to her but for me, however, it would provide the necessary trigger I need to evoke my [Tyrant] to awaken.

So, what that in my mind I was about to ask her but she beats me to it as she puffs her face as she says to me, "Hmph! Foolish human, I wouldn't dare underestimate me you hear I know that damn whale is a problem but don't take me lightly that a mere beast is enough to beat a creation of Echidna you hear I suppose!"

Ha ha ha ha…

I guess Echidna must have transferred the information with the medium black crystal pendant, but I suppose I haven't given Beatrice much credit.

Looking at her as I use my [Dark Hole] to devour the mansion and save it in my [Dark Space] for another time to use as I tell Beatrice, "Are you sure Betty because this could be most dangerous for you to endure?"

Beatrice just smirks at me as we both began to float in the air as my [Dark Hole] managed to devour the mansion entirely into my [Dark Space] as she says at me, "It will take more than a whale to beat me Tatsumi have faith in fact."

This little brat…

Smiling at this I agreed to her to come with me as she went inside the [Dark Space] her as I began to fast travel to our next destination the end of the world.

The Great Waterfall.

With that, I wasted no time to begin my search for Moby dick of this world.

I know for sure that the Great Waterfall is located near the borders of Luginca at the eastern edge of the continent which borders the Great Waterfall.

With that I made my way to The Great Waterfall creating shockwaves above the sky as I use my highest speed of light with my [Authority of Greed: Lion's Heart] but not before I placed Beatrice inside my [Dark Space].

After all, she can't survive her body handling at the speed of light but mine can as I already equipped Incursio and use my Authority.

Shame I can only use 5 seconds of use for it but those few seconds are enough for me to survive the trip.

As I was passing through everything in a blink of an eye I can only assume that the people here are definitely confused as to what is happening today as a dark streak passed through the very skies.

I bet I'm already drawing attention for this and I haven't even told Emilia or the rest of my powers now that I think about it aside from my armor at least.

As I finally see towards my direction, I see that my target is here the Sin Archbishop and the White Whale.

I managed to get a blurred view of who it was but I couldn't stop myself as I went in headfirst into the whale making a notable sound that can be heard throughout the Kingdom of Luginca.

Whoops.

That was my bad on that one since I literally headed straight towards the whale.

Good thing I have Lion's Heart ability or else I might have really died there.

However, I managed to return myself to normal as I was now on top of the blasted White Whale away from the coast of the beach it seems but unfortunately, I wasn't the only one since I released Beatrice out to help me out against him.

The Sin Archbishop of Gluttony.

Lye Batkaitos.

Lye Batenkaitos stood at around five feet and one inch tall, making him a fairly short youth whose height was comparable to the likes of Rem, he appeared to be roughly twelve or thirteen years of age with a high-pitched voice that denoted his apparent youthfulness.

His straight unkempt light-brown hair, which had tips drenched in blood and dirt, trailed down to his knees and fell over his face in a way that obscured his right eye and his diminutive and slender physique had a surprising amount of musculature to it and his dark skin was littered with a multitude of grotesque scars that varied from whip to bite marks.

His most distinctive facial features were his repulsive emerald green eyes and fang-shaped sharp teeth that usually formed a sadistic smile.

Like the other Sin Archbishops, Lye's clothing deviated from the religious habit worn by most Witch Cultists much like his body, the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony's clothing was tattered and dirty.

His primary piece of clothing was a skin-tight purple bodysuit that exposed his arms, bare feet, and chest and had horizontal pink stripes across it.

Over the top of his bodysuit, he wore a tattered black cloak with red patterns that reached down to the ground and a pair of Witch Cult daggers were strapped to his forearms that served as his primary weapons.

What makes him the most dangerous of enemies I face is his [Authority of Gluttony: Gluttony and Eclipse] and the years of experience that comes with it.

Lye could eat the name and memories of their opponent but to eat a name, he had to touch them with his left hand, then licked the palm of the same hand as well as chant their full name.

Things such as experience, talent, and the likes and dislikes of human relationships served as food for him, allowing him to take advantage of any abilities or memories his opponents had however if he ate a fake name, he became plagued with severe nausea, usually throwing up only seconds after.

Those that had their names eaten had their existences erased from the world, destroying any human relationships along with negating any contracts with Spirits not even the people closest to them could remember a single thing about them.

Those that had their memories eaten became amnesic and any characteristics they may have had are reset, effectively making them into a different person.

Those that had both their name and memories eaten simply became a shell, and although they were alive, they no longer ate, excreted waste, or aged, putting them in suspended animation.

Lye could not eat the same person twice until that individual gained enough new memories to establish a different sense of self from their old one.

As he was getting himself back up again, I placed my darkness of gravity to keep me stuck on the whale as it began to move again as Beatrice floats away at a distance while I bring out my [Demon Blade Benizakura].

Lye gets up at his feet glaring at me showing a wide grin on his face as he says to me in an angry but hungry tone, "I eat, I devour, I chew, I bite, I gorge, I gnaw, I munch, I crunch, I savor... Pure gluttony! Ah, thank you for this feast I truly appreciate it! Lye Batenkaitos, the embodiment of gluttony. Why thank you for coming to me for a de- "

Taking no chances, I dash towards him with my blade ready to strike as Beatrice was able to use a spell to trap Lye within the place, "Don't bother leaving this place alive you filthy cultist [Ul Minya], and [El Vita]!"

The de-buff magic started to activate towards Lye, however…

I saw him managed to avoid the attack!

Such scary reaction time –

"Clash!"

But that was when I raised my blade to block Lye's attack trying to decapitate me by the neck!

I kept on attacking him up close and used [Minya] towards him but I can see that I'm the inferior one of this fight seeing that his fighting skills are superior to mine own.

Beatrice also helps me with her own spells using [Minya] or [El Minya] but despite that, he was able to dodge them with ease.

This should be expected at least since out of the Sin Archbishops that Gluttony is the best fighter in their group right after Greed.

But unlike the rest of the Sin Archbishops, he relies on his stolen experiences and techniques to get by.

His Authority of Gluttony functioned identically to his sister's, and although he wasn't incredibly powerful, Batenkaitos made up for his shortcomings with his versatile fighting style and unpredictable arsenal.

With his Authority, Gluttony could control one of the Three Great Demon Beasts known as the Hakugei and occasionally used it in his schemes.

"Clash!"

"[Ul Minya]!"

"Boom!"

"Clash!"

"Roar!"

As the fight continues against Lye the White Whale was now on the move again as we were now heading…

No…

Seeing the view, I see that the White Whale is now heading towards lands of the Luginca Kingdom which means it's time for his feeding or Lye ordering it.

I don't have time to waste against Lye now but he's making it difficult for me to focus!

"Clash!"

Blocking another slash attack with my blade I had to think of a solution on how I can bond more with my Incursio.

Seeing that this fight all out even with my [Aura] boosting my strength Lye was keeping up with me at my full strength but I don't seem to give him much trouble damn!

Viewing this fight of this so far, I have a fatal weakness…

Experience.

I have no experience fighting stronger foes with more physical power than me.

But…

As I was trying to attack Lye as he was dodging my attacks, I activated the [Demon Blade Benizakura] using all my [Yin Magic] into the blade cast with [Shamak].

Next up I released a series of wind blades from the sword but they each have the properties of [Shamak] in the hopes of getting a hit.

While I was using [Authority of Sloth: Unseen Hand] pop up summoning 10 of them going after Lye as he was now trying to avoid them but that was my moment to act.

Lye responding to my Authority of Sloth he looked actually surprised to see me use the former Sloth Authority towards him as he says to me with a crazy smile, "You have Sloth Authority! Slurp… I can't wait to eat your memories and skills stranger you will be an excellent meal for me!"

I finally caught the bastard unguarded as I managed to get behind them using my [Dark Speed] to catch him off guard as I now hold his body as I put my arms locked together on him.

Damn!

I have to admit that Lye is god damn strong with his body but activating my darkness I was quickly absorbing his mana from him as I told him in a tired voice, "Damn… Lye, you have been an opponent that made me actually earn for my [Witch Factor] out of the three I killed making you the fourth."

That seems to get his attention but now his trying everything in his power to get away but my darkness gravity isn't allowing him as I hatefully say to him, "But for the skills you have… they don't belong to you for stealing their hard work in seconds now let's see how you feel about losing your Authority!"

With that I managed to hold on long enough to fully absorb Lye [Authority of Greed: Eclipse] but since I'm holding him…

I am feeling a bit hungry so I might as well take his experience since I'm in need of some myself to improve myself.

To eat a name, I had to touch him with my left hand, then licked the palm of the same hand as well as chant his full name when I removed my mask, "lick… Lye Batenkaitos… thank you for the free level you exp."

With that Lye stops his struggling as I feel myself gaining more experience from the fighter in their group as I smile at this.

Looks like with Lye gone the other Gluttonies won't notice what happened to their sibling now.

"ROAR!!"

However, I was brought back to my attention with the White Whale now heading towards dry land.

Well it's time to kill me a Moby Dick and look for the last member to join!
