"Jasmine?" Dairon's worried voice pulled her out of her trance.
"I didn't mean to!" She shook her head in denial. King Rian lay lifeless on the floor with a pool of blood gathering underneath and around him, and she wanted to get as far from him as she could.
Dairon held back a gasp. This was not the kind of scene he expected to find when he followed her.
"Are you alright?" He inched closer, only for her to recoil.
"Don't touch me!" Her body trembled. "I don't want to hurt you."
"Okay." He let her have the distance she needed and threw a handkerchief at her. "Wipe your hands and face."
When she did, he sent her back to the island, compelled her to sleep and returned to King Rian's castle on his own.

An ominous feeling hung in the air when she woke up. It was the same feeling she had when Dairon messed up with time and she was caught in between the virtual version of reality and what truly happened.
