"You want me to kill my child?" Alaya's voice pitched in shock as she pressed her baby to her chest protectively. It was unbelievable that the goddess who had just saved hers and her son's lives was also the one who suggested that she should kill him.
"I didn't say you have to kill him." Lolanthe smirked with a hint of naughtiness. "It doesn't matter what the truth is. All that matters is that everyone believes what you want them to think."
"Believe what I want them to think…" A hint of calm restored in Alaya's eyes as she figured it out. "Thank you."

"Why are you staring at me that way?" Dairon waved a hand in front of Jasmine's face to pull her out of her trance that made her seem as though she was reading his mind.
"She didn't have a choice. She couldn't keep you." She muttered when her mind started to wrap around what had happened.
