Vol. 6 - Chapter 34

The next day, Kaori found herself meditating on her lonesome, in her room.

The others were outside having lunch while Kaori sat at her bed with her legs crossed and her eyes closed. As Satsuhiro had said, if she truly wanted to learn some magic to complement her skills, she needed to grow her mana pool. And thus, she was in the process of doing just that. 

However, one thing that she hadn't been quite prepared for was the fact that, apparently, when one attempted to clear one's thoughts, the person's mind tended to throw images at them that were hard to ignore. Almost as if the person's brain was complaining about a lack of attention. 

And, unfortunately, that made this much harder for Kaori specifically, as every time she put effort into clearing her thoughts her mind would immediately flood her with nightmarish images. Demons, dead bodies, a random vision of a sobbing Ash and Keiko as the half-demon handed over some strange flask to the Zayama.
