Kaori got the two of them out of the collapsed cart and helped them to their feet. They both shivered as the rain fell on them fully and Kaori could see that the boy's eyes were distant and unmoving. He was trembling so much, that it instantly worried Kaori.
How long have they been here?
He must have been maybe six or seven years old. Placing a hand on the lady's right shoulder, Kaori said:
"You're safe now. You're alright," she tried to stress to them. "I'm here to take you back to the city."
"T-Thank you..." The lady said, letting out a soft cry and Kaori looked away, trying to make sure there were no enemies nearby.
"It's going to be a while before we reach Jade, but just hold on for me, okay?"
